Got 16 minutes of run.
Did a lot of good things in the game.
Showed toughness on defense at the rim, denied the layup even though he fouled hard. Guy only made 1-2.
Got 5 rebounds, helped space the floor (very important), nailed a 3 to knock some rust off and calm some jitters, his length intercepted a pass, made a couple nice passes, and his length affected some shots as well. He could be a key piece going forward I think.

Yeah, we need to see more of him. Rather see him get more run at the 4 than Mo. We need a floor stretcher at the 4. Also a better passer than Mo. And has the height advantage.

Mo D has to sit. Play AJ for sure.
MoD needs to be like Garrison – on the bench – until he can accept that his role is to dunk, block, and rebound. No more shooting and no more fancy driving and dribbling.

Until MoD accepts that, Jelly and Kam need to be our 4s with Jelly splitting some time at the 5 until/if JQ returns. Cannot afford to have MoD or Garrison on the floor for any extended amount of time with the way they're currently playing.

He can and already has helped us, I don’t know why he hasn’t been playing. If pope wants to win more games, he HAS to play him. He’s always fighting for rebounds, he’s a good passer and his shot will start falling just like Kams. You will have no confidence sitting and not getting to play any. I guarantee you if he were playing against Kentucky he would be effective and we would be saying we wished we had him or someone like him. He has got to play more!

Next game Jelly should get Mo's minutes and Mo Jelly's. Maybe that will get Mo's little lip unpoofed. If not, leave him on the bench. Play kids that want to play

He had a good looking shot, if he takes open looks he can be valuable. He seems to be a team player and always plays hard. He passes the ball. We went on our run when we shared the ball. It’s a novel concept I know.

Hindsight, he should have been the starting stretch 4 from day 1 (move Williams to the 3).

Mo has a certain game that’s effective in certain situations, but AJ’s overall repertoire is more suited in Pope's system.

Yet another instance of Pope favoring one of his overpaid, unproductive players, over developing a more talented player!

PG- Committee
2G- Oweh
3- Williams
4- AJ
5- Moreno
Those 5 (PG ?) for 28+ minutes per game, and LFG!!

He fits Popes offensive system as a stretch 4

The 2 players who don’t fit his system are Diaboute and Lowe

Plus to my knowledge he never pouted when he wasn't getting minutes. To me that counts for something with this group. He played a nice game.

I was glad to see him get some clock and I thought he played well.
I think his biggest problem was that he seemed to be a perimter player when he got here; I don't think he's had much experience guarding in the post and that's his biggest weakness. I'm sure he's been working on his defense and he did defend the rim last night.

Go Jelavic
I felt like he played hard, and his length could help us on D, and maybe if he gets comfortable, he will be one of those shooters we need badly.

I’m always proud of players who can keep a good attitude on the bench and then get their chance. Good for AJ. Has good bball IQ

He has to play more. A 4 that can shoot, drive and pass. He and Williams sgould get the majority of minutes at the 4.
But, honest question, can he shoot? I mean he is shooting 23% from 3 and his stats coming in weren't great either. I mean, his form looks good but is he actually a good shooter?

He played well. Most proud I am of how he was boxing out and rebounding . As European big player , he would move well without the ball and pass.

once his 3 pts shots will start falling , him and Williams will become a mismatch nightmare.

imagine Jasper making better decision as a guard, having Cam Williams at 3 and Jela at 4 , both outside and inside threat. With the signs that Moreno is showing at 5, we might have 4 really good pieces for next year.

I am expecting all these 4 to improve this year. hopefully they keep working and will see the floor more often.

Great to see Jelly get some playing time. Adjusting to a new country and culture along with arriving late and not getting time on and off the court with his new teammates has to have impeded his game.

Only 1 game but he has multiple skills that could really help this team. Believe he can play both the 4 & possibly the 5 against teams with weaker front courts. Another potential ball handler, shooter, and rebounder. Teams have to respect his shot so that opens up the lane for our big men plus our guards driving to the basket.

I am wondering if we might run more Zoom with Jelly as the point center on occasion? Don’t believe that will happen but would not mind seeing this occur. Hope CMP gives him the opportunity to get some time as he could be a catalyst to improvement.

My only thing with Jelavic, is I know you are a Euro big, but you can't shoot. Your game is around the rim (where he has shown good touch). Maybe next year you can shoot 3's (if work on them a lot over the summer), but not now!
