How did Coach K handle the 97-98 and 98-99 rosters?

I bring up these years because both were top heavy with young talent and had senior leadership. I just wonder how the chemistry worked and were there signs and signals that meshing would be difficult. History tends to repeat itself, but knowing that makes a world of difference.

The 98-99 was one of the most stacked rosters in NCAA history. On top of being loaded with talent, all of the pieces made sense and fit together. We had a traditional PG, wings, a big to throw the ball to, etc.

Not saying this roster can't become an all time roster, but as of now it appears the pieces aren't going to be a perfect fit.

The thing about those teams was the fact that they were healthy. Brand got hurt later in the year in 98. And K played everyone. The difference I have seen thus far, besides the injuries, is that we don't run a ton. It's a set on offense every time down the court. I think when you have a ton of offensive players, you have to just let them create. Push the ball. At all times. Run full court defense. Make the other team have to adjust to what we do. Not the other way around. Those 98 and 99 teams just ran and ran and ran.

The injuries have prevented us from playing as 1 and then trying to integrate during the season. I think to combat this, we have to just let them play as natural athletes. Less sets. Lets called plays. Just go be better than the guy guarding you.

Trust is what i think you're saying too. I agree, those teams ran. Why can't Luke, Frank, Amile, Having, Jason, and others run?

Those teams attacked the basket and rebound well.
