The NCAA selection committee is effectively run by the Big Ten. Until that changes it's always going to be that way.

Maybe the NCAA felt sorry for what happened to them in the football playoff.

Me either. Obviously, we have to take them seriously, but as long as we have intensity, I don't think they are much of a threat. The only team that really "worries" me in our region is ND.

I've said this for years, college sports is more and more media driven. Just look at the yearly media push to get a small conference school(s) in the college f'ball playoffs and the NCAAs. Go back 30 years and the media (mainly based in NYC, Boston, Philly, and Chicago) when east coast f'ball and b'ball was horrible, they tried very hard to make it relevant...hence the creation of the Big East. And the ACC, even back then, were media favorites due to the vast number of media people who went to UNC, DUKE, and UVA. Fast forward to today and you have the Big10 stretching from Nebraska to Maryland. Not only the Chicago media, but now right next door to the NYC media. The ACC stretches from Boston to Miami taking in all the east coast media. And believe me, most of the media are homers (Tipton excluded of course). Hence the season long push that the Big10, as well as the ACC are the best out there. That being said, I really don't understand some of the media's fascination this year with the Big12.
