How can we at least get back to being a respectable program?

3/4 years of losing is no fund. Non-competitive football is becoming a concerning trend in Evanston.

Here is my advice

#1 need to recruit and develop a QB. If Sullivan is the future he needs it play.

#2 Empower Jim O’Neil. The West Lot Pirates said that Fitz isn’t allowing Jim to run his defensive system. Let Jim cook, and if it doesn’t work find someone else.

#3 Find bigger DL and faster LBs. The last two years NU has had small interior DL and big slow LBs.

#4 Less weight lifting. Feel like guys like Gallagher have gotten too bulky. Seems consistent across the board. Goal is not to look like Arnold.

First, if you do this, the mushrooms will grow. Do we want that? Second, despite all evidence to the contrary, I still find it difficult to accept that someone, anyone, would waste even a moment of their existence trolling Northwestern.

Well if it’s true that Fitz is not allowing JON to implement his system then JON has an “out” in terms of accountability for poor performance. It can’t get much worse than the last 15 games, so give JON complete control with complete accountability and if no significant improvement by the end of the year he should be out. Sure we don’t have a ton of talent but we’ve had some good or at least average defenses under Hank even in down talent years.

Let the trolls grow until their IPs are banned by Rivals. Floridalum was pretty masterful at getting rid of them as they became apparent.

I’d get trolling an opponent fanbase once if there’s a rare need to. E.g., the Bob Stoops / McCaffrey videos to the Iowa OC were hilarious.

But those who keep returning once a year have either mental or emotional issues that they should really be focusing on. NUFB fandom is maddening enough.

I know I'm alone, but Trolls don't bother me. If I feel like responding, it's usually for my own fun. I like fun.

How do Trolls win? They win by getting people all worked up. That includes those who start the incessant lecturing toward other posters about how they should or shouldn't respond. I'm guessing Trolls especially love those lectures; they must be sweet, sweet nectar.

And yet that talent win big west twice, Bowl games, etc when we listen to defenders of PF…

the talent level of the team as assessed by certain board members swings with the wind

1 and 3 are "find better players". Surely you can see that this is about as simple as "call the touchdown play"
#2 is laughable. JON is a laughingstock, a career failure, and only Fitz stands between him and the unemployment line, despite what the West Lot *** Pirates may/may not have said
4 ) dont lift weights so much. Let's just say we all disagree with you.

God only knows. I think because you said to empower JON, people immediately decided you are a troll. I want to empower JON also (to immediately after the PSU game). However, you may be right about Fitz controlling JON (and Bajakian), which wouldn't surprise anyone, and could be what is causing the current inertia of the football program..

WE dont fix this program. THEY do. WE are not qualified. Supposedly, THEY are. WE, in our better moments, support this program.

I think it’s obvious we need more size in the middle of DL.

In this system you want to have large DL that can keep blockers away from the smaller, more athletic LBs allowing that to make plays.

currently we have a bunch of undersized DEs who tried to bulk up to pay DT. Our LBs seem to be slow and podding and I think some of that is too much time in the weight room.
