How does the seeding change if Duke is beat by Notre Dame?

Wisconsin has the inside track and if Arizona wins the PAC-10 it would be between them, UVA and the Dookies for the last spot.

UK - Mid
Nova - East
Wisconsin - South
Arizona - West ?

Arizona - West ?

Even if they get upset I think they get the #1 in the West just for balance.

Screw balance. The committee is going to probably give the top 1 seed the top 2 seed. I don't want to hear about any BS balance for Arizona, Gonzaga and the cupcake West region. You do not reward a team that lost to THREE NIT TEAMS with a 1 seed over someone like Duke or Wisconsin or UVA. The Pac 12 is near garbage...suffice to say I disagree strongly with any consideration for Arizona.

As for the OP's topic...if Duke loses tonight, I think they stay a 1 seed. People are going to be upset with that, especially at UVA, but just IMO. Duke has the best wins of any team by far as a whole. The committee could drop them to the 4th 1 at west, but I think they would just flip flop Duke and Nova at the 2/3 1 seed positions.

Dukes not doing below the third overall seed. Losing to Notre dame would not be anything with dropping them off the one line.

The one direct result you could see is Villanova to the east and duke the south. Right now,I think it's visa versa.

Yup. You know, I enjoy this now. I can root for Duke to lose tonight as it might help UK. Duke in the east sticks UK with UVA probably (not that I fear them, BUT UK deserves KU or Gonzaga), while if they move south maybe the committee ignores the 50 miles difference of Cleveland/Syracuse from UVA's campus. I doubt they will as they are anal about mileage, but I hope to be wrong as I am so many times.

It would be very easy to justify Duke as a 2 seed to Villanova's 1 in the East if Duke loses tonight.

No conference title.

No tourney title.

Blowout losses to NC State and Miami.

Hope it happens and the committee is scrambling.

The PAC 12 is worse than the SEC.
Assuming they all win out, the four 1's are UK, Wisc, Duke & Villanova
So that would put UK in MW or maybe even South. They know we will travel to Houston, but I'm not sure any of the others would. That would make the 2's Arizona, Gonzaga, KU & UVA. KU would get sent to Houston, UVA to Cleveland since Duke would probably be in the East.

The committee could easily justify Wisconsin AND Arizona getting a 1, but they wont do it.
Arizona, Wisconsin, duke and Virginia all have identical records. If Duke loses they become the first of the bunch with 4 losses.

They almost have to drop Virginia off the 1 line now. The best thing that can happen to everyone is if Nova loses.

Truth is, Kentucky is the ONLY LOCK.

I honestly fell like Arizona and Wisconsin should both move in if nova loses.

Kentucky
Wisconsin
Arizona
Duke

If Nova wins out then

Kentucky
Nova
Wisconsin
Duke

Who knows man. I can tell you one thing, how would you like to have Notre Damn as your 4 ??

Not sure anything will change...Ill be shocked if Duke isn't a 1. But it depends on how it favors the committees agenda..if Duke wins, it will be a "conference tourney matters" kinda year and if they lose, it'll be a conference tourney doesn't matter" kinda year.

Which could mean Virginia to the east as a 2 seed.

That will make me sleep at night, buddy.

Yup. Funny how things change. I was rooting for Nova to lose earlier tonight so UVA, Duke and Wisconsin were the 1s but now we want Nova to win their tourney so they are the #2 1 seed in the East and Wisconsin to win out so they are a 1 seed.

I still say Duke will get the last one. Their wins will overcome no conference title in regular season or post-season. You could argue UVA over Duke, but Duke won head to head. Remember, Duke has beat Wisconsin (a 1 seed) as well as 2 wins over UNC (who could win the ACC Tourney), ND (who could win the ACC Tourney), both of which may jump to 3 seeds, and so on.

As UK fans, we are still left to the committee to ignore geography (strictly on a mile to mile comparison) in favor of putting the non-ACC 1 seed as the East 2 instead of the "barely" closer Midwest region 2 seed.
