How in the world did Ohio State NOT win the Big 10?

Based on their last two games (Mich and ND), they were by far the best team in the Big 10, and surely one of the four best in the country (Not arguing they deserved a final 4 bid, they had their chance on the field and lost fair and square to Mich State). Hard to believe, but at 12-1, they kind of underachieved in 2015, had a lot of meh games and close wins. But when they brought their "A" game, damn they were good.

But damn, if there is one team that has comparable talent and coaching to Alabama, it is the Buckeyes.

On a side note, I would say Michigan and Tennessee are right on the doorstep of being nationally relevant again. Both teams very well coached, with all the resources you need to be successful nationally. Thought they both looked very, very strong.

The other B10 division (that Iowa won) must be weak as hell if Northwestern went 10-2. There is no way that team goes better than 7-5 in the SEC, or maybe even in the ACC division with UL, Clemson and Fla State.

I was thinking the same thing. Right now, tOSU probably is the only team that could go toe-to-toe with 'Bama.

I wonder if Urban has whiners and complainers in his fan base like Cal has here. Yeah, given the talent level they underachieved. Hard to get up for every game, especially if you're the target, especially if you won't he title last year....

cardale jones and jt barrett and a 3rd qb might have something to do with it. also seems like some of those guys started worrying about draft status before the season started... tried to not get injured instead of just playing the game. just am opinion of course.

Both Bama and OSU started playing better once they lost. Problem is OSU lost late and didn't win their division. If Mich had beat MSU( crazy play at the end of game allowed MSU the win) as they should have, the Bucks would've won the division and beat Iowa for Big10 championship and probably made the playoffs as defending champs. I think that one freak play changed a lot of things.

agreed but they never looked like a team that was defending national champion and returned dang near everybody. that team was set up to wreck that schedule this year and they just didn't return to last years late season form. do agree that bama and osu have by far the most skill and would be the best matchup for both. i think osu would kill clemson IF they showed up for 4 quarters.

Big 10 used to be referred to as the Big 2 Plus 8 meaning it was a 2-team conference, Ohio St and Michigan. Looks like it's going back to that, those teams played well today. ESPN's blathering about the Big However Many is sickening. We're seeing after two overrated teams, Michigan St and Northwestern, were embarrassed that the league isn't what it's cracked up to be. Wouldn't be surprised if Iowa is the next to go on the scrap heap.

Iowa going down too. I'm just glad MSU got destroyed last night. After last year many of the talking heads were acting like the SEC was no longer relevant.

Okay a crap schedule and can't win your biggest game of the year at home playing a team without its QB...glad they weren't in it. Didn't deserve it.

Any team can play impressively in a couple of games. To win a major conference championship, you have to be consistent for the whole season. Ohio State threw a shoe against a solid, well coached Michigan State team and paid the price.

Ohio State dealt with the same problem the Noles did in 2014 coming off a National Championship. They had problems getting motivated every game. They had a lot of lethargic wins against teams they were superior to just like the Noles did in 2014. It finally caught up to them against Michigan State. Once they lost then they started playing better but it was too late.

Not sure if you watched them lose to Michigan State, but Urban called a very conservative game and admitted so aftewards. It cost them a Final 4 appearance. That was the game that Elliott melted down after because of the bizarre play calls.

Well-----I don't think anyone on here will argue that they don't have great talent-----and that only leaves one thing.

And to think some of our fans wanted to try to match OSU's $50,000,000 or so contract for their coach.

And I am pretty sure if he had coached here this year a lot of our fans would be screaming for a change. LOL

OSU, Bama, Clemson and I don't know between Michigan and UT looked hottest at end of year.

Agree that osu was the one team that could compete with Bama. In fact, I thought all year long that osu would win the nc. Fortunately they played their poorest game against their best competitor. If they played MSU again, they'd kill them. I'm glad they didn't make the play-off, for IMO, they may very well be the best team in the country and quite likely would have won the nc.

No fault of their own, but some of these conferences are unbalanced right now. Iowa playing in the Rose Bowl is proof of that. Florida gets throttled in their bowl game, but we all know that even though they played in the SEC Championship that they where not the second best team in the league. It just happens. That's sometimes what you get when you expand conferences and every team doesn't play a head to head matchup.

No. Sorry, this is not the same Bama defense as last year. Their not even in the same universe. Lol
That's an NFL front 4, with great depth. Nothing against OSU, I think they are very talented. BAMA would put a lock down on them like Alkatraz.

You may be right, but I thought they'd put the lock down on them last year. I'm glad their season is over.

In his post game interview on the field they asked him about the season and he said something like, - It is what it is, you can't please some people. - Thought it was an odd comment.
