Doege looks like hot ****. Brown is a fool to keep him in this long. Losing an insanely winnable game is how you lose your team.

If Greene isn't ready then Brown can't coach.

He isn’t worse. Not at all. He has enormous potential by almost all accounts. I’ve seen him in person once and know several very credible people who’ve seen practice regularly. He is literally 3x the athlete JD is and has a great personal charisma/presence. Yes, he’s young and will make some mistakes, but he’s also going to make probably 3x the plays that Doege will EVER make based on physical gifts and confidence alone. Anyone who’s seen him will tell you the kid is something every team needs at QB…a natural playmaker.

I personally like NB, but if he sticks with JD after this it’s just pure nepotism and, honestly, straight up negligence. There will literally be NO excuse for it. We MUST find out if the future of the program might already be on campus.

Or Greene sucks as well. This is the year the extension should have been talked about. Not last year. Now you have no choice but to keep him 2 more years.

That's true, but I'd rather invest in something that has a small chance to succeed than to further invest in something that has proven to have zero chance of success.

The option of running Doege back out there is not a viable option. Prepare Greene to compete with and push Marchiol for QB1 in 2022.

Why the focus ONLY on the offense? The defense gave up about 500 yards. That isn't a major problem? It's tough to Trust the Climb when WVU digs its own grave.

Our defense did enough to win. They got tired in the end. Our LB and CB situation needs work, but this team will only go as far as our passing game will take us.

The offense had 4 turnovers that lead to 13 points in a 6 point loss. 500 yards of offense is nothing in today's game. It's all about taking advantage when it's given and that's what Maryland did. Defense was exhausted. Gave up half those yards on 3 big plays. With 2 of them in Maryland first 3 series. I'm not faulting the defense in this one.

Heard the same all summer about Doege and his hard work and vast improvements. Forgive me if I don't buy into the crap of Greene being better. Show me on the field.

Ultimately we have Doege who is a redshirt senior without any significant physical gifts. His arm is not anything great. He is as mobile as a statue. He is not super big/strong to shrug off defenders. So we are starting a redshirt senior without any significant physical gifts who is also making freshman mistakes along with inaccuracy when he does make the right read. It almost seems that Greene shouldn't even have a scholarship if he doesn't have more upside than that. I say that because Doege's play Saturday was so bad that even if Greene is somewhat worse the experience for him in the future is more valuable than the subpar play now from senior that's gone after this year.

I would like to see Crowder myself. Starter against LIU. If you're playing a true freshman that's the game to try it. Might piss off Greene but he can transfer and we wouldn't miss him.

Problem is the defensive side of the ball and to an extent special teams have good coaches. The offensive side of the ball including the head coach who is basically the offensive coordinator have bad.

WVU's 2 best quarterbacks this century played as true freshman. I understand wanting to redshirt, but if your QB options are as bad as what Doege showed on Saturday, it's not worth keeping to have a lost season without QB development.

I cannot understand how West Virginia University has a division one quarterback that runs like he is in flip flops and scared to lose one. Everybody is going to kill Leddie on the read option BS. When the entire defense bites and destroys Leddie, and Doegecoin pulls the ball and takes it, the defense can get up, tie their shoes, fix their pads and get him before he gains three yards…..if he doesn’t fall down first.

I question his decision ability, talent, and toughness. I’ll give him the second int as it was a mental issue in coverage that worked out well for Maryland, everything else was inexcusable.

He has a opportunity to redeem himself this weekend and next weekend.

Same thing said after most of his games. Redemption time should be over.

I'd say he has a chance to bury himself, but not redeem himself next week. No matter how well he does against LIU, it won't mean much. He can redeem himself with a good outing against VT.

LEDDIE BROWN IS TREMENDOUS ASSET. DEFENSE DID not ... repeat, not ... DO ENOUGH TO WIN. NOT WHEN YOU GIVE UP 500 YARDS! IT TAKES ALABAMA 3 GAMES TO GIVE UP THAT MANY YARDS.

200 of those were in the first quarter. They recovered and dominated the next 2 plus quarters. They didn't lose this game. Bad QB play and 4 turnovers lost us an insanely winnable game.

Oh my. Oh my. CFE just informed us that Leddie Brown is a tremendous asset! What a scoop. What a headline.

Exactly. The defense didn't WIN the game like it has in the past 2 seasons when they kept the opponent to 21 or less. But they surely didn't LOSE the game by blowing opportunity after opportunity. If anything they had their hard work squandered by stopping MD 3 times, but the offense giving the ball right back immediately after. Defense also forced 3 consecutive 3 and outs during the 3rd quarter even setting up the offense on the opposing team's 44 yardline which the offense used to get ZERO points. The defense certainly made mistakes and didn't play great, but they definitely didn't **** the bed for most of the game the way the offense did for almost 3 quarters.

166 in first quarter. Gave up another 330 yards after that, too. Defending defense is a poor defense.
I went by what the announcers said. The defense wasn't great, but guess what? We were not playing a great team. They didn't have to be great. They were good enough to beat Maryland. Our offense absolutely was not.

SO YOU'RE OK WITH WVU DEFENSE GIVING UP 6,000 YARDS THIS SEASON? GOOD ENOUGH TO BEAT EVERYBODY?

Of course not. This boat has multiple leaks. I'd rather address the largest one first, which would hopefully put our defense (likely 4th or 5th biggest leak) out on the field a lot less than Doege will.

Im not "defending the defense" but Doege is the biggest issue right now.
