People forget how young he was when he got to Duke. I think he was 17 when he first got here.Hansbrough was either twenty or turned twenty during his freshman year. Twenty vs seventeen is a heck of a difference. We should remember this when we discuss Jeter as he is in the same situation

Lance has done what the coaches and management has asked of him...period. That concept is far and few in 2015. Add to that, hard work, practice, consistency, love for the game, etc... Monty felt the same for him in New Orleans, unfortunately, he was let go. Don't be surprised if Lance is the next Draymond Green, not a hard stretch...

If my memory is correct didn't we give Lance a pretty hard time about his production and play for a good part of his career? We seem to pick out one guy every year and this year it seems to be Chase and I've added my dime's worth to it. But I understand that this is a message board and we are entitled to our opinions and disappointment in some of our players. But most of the time things work out when they hang around for 4 years and don't transfer. Lance is a great example of that. I'm so happy that Lance decided to tough it out along with Zoub, Cook, Amile, Marshall and the others I haven't named. I have a feeling Chase will be one of them but I just wish he would hurry up. And Sky, many of us agree, but what makes this kid special is the transformation he went through to become a NBA player. He added to his game. At Duke, there were many complaints; he can't shoot, he only sets picks, he can't dribble, he is not big enough, etc... He was never asked to do the things the league demands of him, except obey your coach and be a good teammate. That's what makes it hard for fans. We want a Oak, Brand, Boozer, Sheldon, and Christian every year. The coach staff need pieces to a puzzle, at the time he was that. That's why Duke won a Ship in 2010.

As for Chase, he has skills and few limitations outside of weight and youth. He will get better. If Chase can be Lance in college, great. But I would be lying to you if I do not expect more from Chase. As for Obi, I don't get it...

I don't remember. Maybe when he was playing center for us as a soph, or committing fouls on the perimeter due to a lack of body control as an underclassman. I don't know that he was a rebounding force until his senior year. Any other statistical weaknesses tended to be compensated for by someone else's strength.

Impatience w/ Chase is tempered w/ the logic that he wasn't going to replace a senior Amile.

Lance is a true testimant of doing it the right way, and how hard work pays off. Easily the last option on the title team, nothing sexy about his game, and now the most significant pro on that squad. So proud of him and what he has become. Poster of the principles K built the program on
