are enough to conclude this regime is not up to the job. An open ended question from a loyal fan that has stopped watching our games due to intractable nausea. I think apathy must be along the stages of death of a program.

The general feeling is that Collins has until this current batch of freshmen are seniors to turn this around. He got NU into the NCAA Tournament with his first batch of recruits. That's a massive accomplishment. Now that he has a revamped arena and other facilities, he needs to do it again during the time that Nance, Kopp, Greer and Young are at NU.

CCC will get another 2-3 years to try to turn this around.
Glad to see the Fighting Undies fan weighing in on the NU coach. Why? Seriously, it’s Year Six. You can’t possibly tell me that after six seasons, only two of which he managed to win more games than he lost (!!!!!!), the jury is still out?
This is not working, and it’s not going to work.

Why are you still here?
This is a reasonable take. Carmody got 13(!) years. Collins leash won’t be as long but i think of this team remains in the bottom half of the BIG the next 3 seasons, he should be canned. This has been asked and answered 100 times on this board.

It's going to be a heck of a lot harder to land a strong 2020 class after this disappointing season, but that's why they pay him the big bucks.
Heh, fair enough.
There was a time (prior to the Carmody Wars) that this was a good place for that. We’ve been slowly moving back in that direction.
Enjoy your stay.
I never imagined this year would suck worse than last year, and next yr might be ugly as well. But I’m in for the long haul and think that it’s unlikely that we’ll find a better fit than CCC for this program. He is more of a work in progress than I expected, and there are multiple problems. The thing I’m most disappointed in other than not enough Ws, is that team chemistry seems to be missing. Who are our “glue guys”?

CCC has had a rough couple of years. Sometimes you end up with a group that just don’t have that guy that hates losing so much that he transforms the attitude of the team. This team looks resigned to losing. Pardon is one of my all time favorites, but he seems like too nice of a guy to be that mean SOB that gets the rest of the team fearing losing.Don’t be cranky. I’m not trolling. Just objectively asking the question.
Having sat through a couple unnecessary seasons of John Groce, I know your pain. You want it to work, early returns were promising, but it doesn’t happen for a number of reasons (I think in the case of him and Collins, a combination of poor roster construction - notably the lack of a PG for many years - and player development).
Aren't Pardon and Gaines supposed to be the glue guys?
I am not sold on Underwood and think he has some of the same Red *** tendencies. However, it would be foolish to argue that his team hasn’t progressed and NU is clearly much worse than they were in December. Team Confidence is severely underrated in predicting outcomes of college sports. The Undies have it and the Cats don’t right now. It is the reverse in football. I am not sure I even remember a time where both team were at the top of their game at the same time in either sport.
