From game website: "18,000 US fans and 5,000 European fans are expected to travel for game week in Dublin 2022."

I'd take 12k to 6k, but probably more skewed. For official fan bars: we get ONE, and Nebby......

SATURDAY 27TH AUGUST: Official Pre-Game Tailgating | Starting at Noon | Temple Bar Area

Official Northwestern Bar - Fitzsimons Temple Bar
Official Nebraska Bar - Buskers Bar, Gogartys, The Auld Dubliner, The Bridge Bar, Horse Show House

The good news is even if it’s 17k to1k, there would be about 10k fewer UNL fans than there would be if the game was in Evanston.

I am guessing around 3,000 fans. I do not think that this number is optimistic.

You need to subtract families of players from that 3K. That's in the ball park of 400+/- . I don't think we will have 3K. I doubt we had 3K at the Holiday Bowl in '18.

Why? They bought a ticket. They will be in attendance. They are Northwestern fans.

I cannot wait to be in Dublin showing my love for our 'Cats. I hope we have much to cheer for in Aviva Stadium. The too early weather forecast is for perfect football weather-High 70, Low 51, intermittent rain. Go 'Cats!!!

PS-do you think DJ Commando will be traveling with the team?

@villox will I have any problems accessing Wildcat Report while in Ireland?

Rivals blocks all of the EU and UK from accessing it because they don't feel like complying with EU and UK privacy regulations. If you have a VPN to get back to the US (useful for other reasons as well) you can get it to work.

I have a group of about 10 going. It's slightly more than an average bowl game for my group. I would guess 3k-5k Northwestern fans at the game. Lean closer to the 5k side of it to be honest, wouldn't be shocked if it's more than that in purple. We travel to big ticket events like this better than we do to standard games in my experience. And Ireland is a pretty good opportunity to do a trip.

Did anybody choose not to go to Dublin due to NU's performance last season, and especially against the team we'll be playing there?

They don't feel like it? I would bet there is more to it than that. If it were profitabke, they'd feel like it.

Partially yes. Upon the announcement of the game, I was very excited. I also knew that my elder daughter would be starting her freshman year at some school. Well, the 3-9 year evaporated virtually all interest. If she had made the proper choice of school, we probably would have found a way to attend. Unfortunately, I will be driving to Ann Arbor next week…so the game will be watched at home, with one less person in the house.

Go ‘Cats!
