How many of you tell your kids that Santa is real?

I never bought into it but always wondered how many people actually carried on the tradition.

Of course my kids believe in Santa. Let them have a dream world while they can. Thinking back that would have sucked not getting the chance to believe in that sort of thing. I think there is an appropriate age to break from it and some parents carry it too long but it seems a little odd to me that a child wouldn't get the chance to live it.

Adults suck ***. This is why life sucks the vast majority of the time.

Tell my kids, eventually they figure it out on their own. :)

My two oldest know there isn't a Santa (16/14), but because they grew up believing and enjoying the holiday, they still get excited about Christmas morning. One of them yesterday helped to build a giant dollhouse for our youngest, and she was grinning from ear-to-ear the entire time. It's cool to see that and to see her understand how neat it's going to be Christmas morning for the youngest to think Santa came and dropped this thing off.

Anyway, hope everyone has a Merry Christmas today.

I don’t have kids, but I still believe in Santa Claus.

Obviously, I understand there’s not a physical Santa Claus, but Santa is part of the Spirit of Christmas.

If I did have kids, this is exactly how I would explain it to them when the time came. It’s how my Mother explained it to me, and it made for a smooth transition into becoming a young adult.

Got a Santa suit. Play him for family. Kids absolutely love it. Especially the young ones. As an added bonus you wear the suit in public, and every hot chic in the place wants to sit in your lap.

I figured it out on my own around 6 or 7. The logistics of the whole operation just didn’t add up for me. I think 9-10 years old is a little too old to still believe. At the very least, your kids shouldn’t be going into middle school still believing in fairy tales.

Cannot understand why parents deny their kids of believing in Santa! There’s absolutely no harm in it as kids.
Most everyone that doesn’t allow their kids to believe in Santa from my experience have been cheap *** people who are only looking for another excuse to be cheap at the expense of their kids! They suck !
They buy whatever they want but tell the kids “sorry Johnny mom and dad couldn’t afford anything for you this year “ (while he’s cleaning his new AK-47)

A few of my in laws don’t “do Santa” and their cringy reason is “i don’t feel right lying to me kids”

My kids believed in Santa...the youngest until he was almost 11 (mostly because his brother and sister had him convinced...)
But they were taught that Santa only brings three small gifts to represent the gifts brought by the three Wise Men. Those gifts were things like books, puzzles, board games, etc. Anything more expensive came from Mom and Dad.
They learned as they grew up about the real Saint Nicholas, and also learned that Santa is about the magic of giving. He doesn’t have to be a real person, he’s a concept that most people would do well to remember all year

We let our daughter believe as long as she wanted.....paid a Santa and Mrs. Claus to come in one Christmas Eve. It was worth every penny of the money we spent to see the excitement.... She was 5.......we wanted to do it before she started school........why would anyone want to deny their kid a fun time.......I tell my grand kids to enjoy being a kid......growing up happens way to fast these days.....look around............let them be children.......

A pickle in a Santa suit? I need to see this in person.

I still believe in the whole Santa thing, it makes it more fun. I obviously know there isn’t a big fat guy going in houses, but I choose to believe the whole concept to enjoy Christmas a little more....even though I put out the presents, but still.

I am cracking 70 and cannot believe what I am reading on one of my favorite sites; you mean there is no Santa?
If he isn't real, then who left this stainless Colt Government and Smith and Wesson .44 under my tree?

Maybe its because you guys just haven't been good boys this year.
Santa is alive and well in my house.

Believing in Santa is one of the magical times of being a kid. Still remember the excitement and awe of seeing presents under the tree Christmas morning. It doesn’t last forever and generally by 7-8 years old the gig is up but kids still appreciate Christmas morning all the same moving forward.

Don’t understand why anyone would deprive their child the magic of Santa.

My kids believe(d). My daughter is 4 and watching her eyes light up this morning to the gifts Santa had left was a real gift to me. My 10 year old believed until this summer. He asked and we decided 10 was old enough to come clean. We made sure he didn’t ruin it for his sister and he enjoyed Santa’s gifts this morning as well.
