Have we beat quality teams in football to lose the next week to someone like Vanderbilt?
Let's enjoy every win this year and hope it turns out to be a special year.
Fans like us don't control wins and losses, but hopefully we can stay involved all year.

Your latter point is why I so desperately wanted to beat UK. Aside from all the other obvious factors, it really would have kind of put stamp on our season in only our 2nd game if we had lost. I basically lost interest after the UNC game last year since it was very apparent to all of us it was going to be a rough year.

Beating UK doesn't guarantee anything (they did not look like a very good team) but it does keep the fans interest piqued for at least a few more weeks. Barring an absolute shellacking by LSU or a inexplicable collapse against a very bad Akron team (currently 0-2, coming off a drubbing by Rutgers), we should still be in line to have a shot at a decent season as Ole Miss rolls into town.

We had to beat what was obviously a very overestimated football team.

Right. We Gamecocks fans are a largely reactionary bunch. Many of us, including myself, were ready to burn the program down after last week's showing (and for good reason). Now, the mood for many has shifted entirely, with us dreaming of knocking off LSU at home. Could we? Sure. Is LSU unbeatable? No.

However, UK, overall, did not look like a good team on Saturday. That takes nothing away from a win we absolutely had to have. 31-6 is 31-6. But they were, as you say, highly overestimated based on a 31-0 drubbing of a terrible Southern Miss team in Week 1. I'm trying to balance enjoying a thorough thumping of UK with the understanding that they weren't as good as advertised.
