back in the eighties the place I worked at (Dupont) had a castle eating contest. It was for shift workers only and had to eaten on midnight shift during lunch break only . We had four shifts, A,B,C and D shifts. Somebody came up with the idea that this shift could eat more than that shift so the challenge was on
My shift of maybe 40 people ate 1050 (33 was cheese burgers ) in a 2 hour span, with one guys slamming 50 and chasing them with a 2 liter of big red. has weighed about 200 and six ft tall. We had to order them two days in advance so they could have people there to cook em. White Castle @ 7th and Berry and I picked them all up in my pickup truck. it was crazy. Byron Crawford a news reporter wanted to do a story on site but our plant manager refused it. The shift that came in second dropped 750 on their night shift.. Myself, 10 was the best I could do.
