How much improvement can be expected from the defense next season?

Get Laster back from injury.

Jordan Bonner will have a full offseason under his belt.

Some promising redshirts become available. Looney, Cross, Bannerman, Robinson, Gilliam.

JUCO DL Hoskins I believe is an early enrollee. Crucial for JUCO guys.

Hopefully, Darius West can finally stay healthy.

Maybe Kash Daniel takes the MLB spot away from Courtney Love.

I'm trying hard to be optimistic.

We should be better if proposed Jrowland class comes to Fruition.

1. 2 impact Juco lineman
2. Bench Love
3. Bench Elam
4. Pringle improves
5. Middleton improves
6. CBs are good.
7. Safety are average
8. Ware, Jordan jones, and 41 are SEC level

Need a Mike backer that likes to hit the ball carrier hard and need some Disruptive ear biting DL that don't get blown back every play

Great opening post

I'll argue talent has its issues but to me the scheme is just goofy in 3-4. Dline are taught to engage the Oline and not attack gaps and penetrate to backfield. I wish we'd just go back to 4-3 and be done with this mess of trying to be multiple. (But it won't happen)

- Stoops should fire Elliot
- Allen and Ware have to improve a the run and hold the edges better
- Middleton is not bad At all. Need him to build off-season power. But we still lack another run stuffer in middle
- jones is awesome but Love is just not a Sec Lber. I don't see the staff using Kash more because but we need to pair a better inside over with Jordan
- I'm fine with our secondary for most part. Westry isn't great but Baity is a baller

My guess would be a similar amount of improvement that we saw between years one and two, two and three, and three and four (which is virtually none)

Stoops' historically bad defenses have been by far the biggest disappointment of his tenure

Right now, all of Stoops defenses have been worse in terms of YPG than any of Joker's teams, and this year is the worst of all. Just amazing.

Glad Mitch hired CMS because of his defensive expertise...that's working well

Which is why we need an offensive minded HC. We need a Briles, Leach, Petrino, Kelly type offense to overcome our defensive deficiencies. Nobody but Bama plays defense anymore anyway. It's all about who has the best offense.

Way too early to try to gauge where a team will be 'next year'. There will be a large number of changes from year to year. It just always seems to happen. Injuries, transfers, and twists and turns will always happen. We have to hope we don't have major changes other than changes for the better.

K-TIME; I like what you have said, and I would like to think that Westry will be much improved next year. Go Cats!!

If this plays out, I see him transferring. With his size and speed many takers out there for a guy that's so physical
There is no indication Kash is going anywhere...he loves Ky period. And Love is a Jr this year so it's not like Kash has to deal with this past next year.

I would liked to have seen Kash in the UT game. Other than special teams, I did not see him. Maybe he gets some pt on Saturday. Go Cats!!

It's like a wife having an affair for 12 weekends and saying it's ok, eventually loving Ky will die
