The Brian Keck Preseason Nationals is this weekend. It is usually a tough tournament, but I it might be down this year. Not seeing a lot of highly ranked wrestlers in the 11-12 grade brackets. With that said, there was some good wrestles for OK kids.

106-Jaxon Randle 4th
113 Cason Craft -1st
113 Cache Williams - 6th after Inj Def matches after a semi-final loss
138-Calan Manley -1st. Stillwater kid that appears to have been stuck behind other talented wrestlers e.g., Casula, early in HS
144-Toby Shipman - 1st. Won every match with bonus until the finals where he was down 3-8 in final 15 seconds. He hit a reversal into a cradle for 6 points and a 9-8 win.
157-Garon Kaiser - 1st. A Deer Creek senior that placed 3rd at state last year losing to Ish in the semis. Was not one of the 32 seeds in the bracket. Won all by fall (5) or tf (1). Was beating the 2 seed 12-1 (not counting back points in the pinning move) before the pin. Leading the 31 seed 16-2 before the pin. Leading the 18 seed 7-0 before a 46 second pin. Pinned the 10 seed in 30 seconds. TF of the 3 seed 16-0. Pinned the 24 seed in the finals in 30 seconds.
175-Matthew Mann - 2nd . Broken Arrow senior that took 3rd at state last year.

There is not much to report from the 9-10 grade brackets.
144 - Quincey Crawford - 1st. He is listed from Oklahoma but wrestled in this tournament with Bull Trained (Sammy Henson’s club). He also entered u17 WTT in the same way. A freshman at Hickman, MO last year losing to former OSU commit Devon Harrison in the state finals.
150 - Diesel Pederson - 1st - A soph at Broken Arrow.

The Brian Keck Showcase brackets still didn’t have a lot of big names that I recognized.

120 - Sammy Smith of CA - 1st He should be one of the top 5-19 recruits of 2028 rolled through the braxket
126 - Isaiah Jones - 1st
126 - Van Smith 2nd Majored by Jones in the finals.
132 - Bryar Hooks, Choctaw. 1st. Won a lot of tight matches. Interestingly, Hooks recently lost to Manley who placed first in the 11-12 bracket at 138.
132 - Eric Casula 3rd.
157 Jake Miller BA (Ark-LR commit) 1st

I think Miller is a Iowa State commit now
Jones is committed to Little Rock

I know we don’t really discuss high school girls wrestling but wanted to give one of my wrestlers a shout out. Audrey Flores took 2nd at preseason nationals at 110. Pinned the #1 seed in the Quarters and beat another top seed in the semis.

Only a freshman. Has a ton of potential
