How fortunate for texas to be getting the kids who wanted out of Baylor. Too bad they could not get them the first time around when Charlie tried to recruit them. But as long as they wind up at texas, who cares how they got there if your a horn fan. I wish them the best for an injury-free, but non-productive careers in Austin.

Well I think there is more to this than meets the eye they were already at 85 scholarship limit I think they paid this kid after he visited Oklahoma because come on now this kid was talking up Trent Williams and how much of a great trip he had at Oklahoma just now. Recruiting is a dirty job and I think Charlie Strong pulls a lot of racial cards when it comes to these kids even though he will likely be out the door after next season because I could see a six win season. Thus I do hope as Oklahoma prepares for the game they do take the Red River Shoot out serious because yes it was an 11 am kickoff which is often a kiss of death anyway Boomer Sooner.

Not jumping on the bash Texas/Charlie Strong theme.
Serious question: How do any teams have scholarships available for these kids?
I can understand one here and there. But I heard this is the 4th for Texas.
How come their scholarships aren't full?

Baylor should of done something to the players who committed a crime. It bit Briles & Baylor in the butt. What about the girls who where raped? If all this would not have happened, these players would still be at Baylor. Glad to have the 5 players at Texas. :) Why didn't Ou get Murray & your QB the first time around?

We didn't recruit Mayfield as OU had their eye on other targets. Not sure if we tried to recruit Murray, so I can't offer an explanation for him. But like texas, we're glad to have them both. We've also got one of BU's recruits visiting OU this week, so hopefully we can pick him up too! Good luck to your horns in 2017.

Will have to cut atleast 2 to make this work

Attrition has been in the works since before Briles was even thought to be in jeopardy of losing his job. Just because you don't know about something doesn't mean it's not already happening. We'll likely end up one or two players short of 85 by the start of the season.

Thanks for yet another failed prediction on your part, by the way. I think this is your fourth -- that I've seen, anyway. You da real MVP. Keep it up.

Found an answer in an article on SportsDay:
"Some have wondered on Twitter and message boards about media coverage and how Texas found scholarship room under NCAA rules for additional players. But 2015 Texas recruits Du'Vonta Lampkin, Gilbert Johnson and Devonaire Clarington failed to qualify. The Longhorns were able to shift four 2016 early enrollees into the 2015 class. And four graduate transfer exits this spring freed up scholarships."

This guy doesn't seem happy about it.
He does have a point. Will Charles in Charge manage to have a winning season this year? Bottom dweller is no place for UT football. I hope he gets his crap together this season. The conference needs a competitive Texas.

Coming from the situation they did at Baylor, maybe he missed the point. Maybe they looked at Bob Stoops and got spooked by the fact that he has actually brought in people like Mixon and DGB, while knowing their history before touching campus, and still chose to bring them in. I can see how that would turn a parent off, coming from the Baylor situation. Maybe they looked at Charlie Strong as someone that's going to start winning conference championships, but without those type of players. Priorities.

Oh, gotcha. Makes sense. Choosing Baylor in the first place and all...

Does Sorry Charlie's losing record sting that much? You know when Stoops had his last losing record? Chuckle. You can play the UT choir boy act if you like, but this isn't the Uterus board, so you'll have to excuse our laughter.

Care to explain Mixon's "history" before arriving on campus? Surely you have some credible links. Or is that just the typical collective nut chugging group think of the Douchebloods crowd?

Mixon dropping a girl with a one hitter quitter...I'm sure parents aren't going to play obtuse on purpose, like you are. And I'm sure DGB was well known to them, also. Why you mad? I'm just saying maybe he missed the point.

So you are just the status quo Douchebloods chugger. Not surprising. Facts aren't your strong point like a winning record isn't Webster's strong point.

Or you a simple minded minion, that can't handle the truth. I posted facts. I'll say it again, maybe he missed the point. Especially after that Baylor situation. Priorities.

Actually you posted that Mixon had issues prior to coming to OU. We have the results in, and the test has determined THAT is not a fact. He punched a gal in Norman OKLAHOMA, not Norman California. Geography much?

I don't even know what to do with the rest of your drivel. Wanna try again there chugger?

And remind me again, how many plays did DGB play ?

Doesn't change the fact that Stoops allowed him on the team. He was hoping he would stick around, that wasn't Stoops choice. But I laughed at your question.

Haha, you're hung up on that. You're a funny lil minion. So he knocked a girl out, before ever touching the field. Is that better? Now what does it change? Nothing. The point is the same. Maybe they got spooked by the FACT that Stoops recruited DGB and allowed the one hitter quitter Mixon, to remain on the team...especially after that Baylor situation. Priorities.
