What won’t be released to the outside public is the circumstances. His wife hated Huntington and resigned her coaching position at St. Joseph girls basketball few months earlier. A lot of this was his choice more than MU “moving on”. Listening to the ESPN “experts” blame the administration was very good propaganda for Huff.

Having previously lived in Huntington for 8 years, I can't blame her at all. The "city" feels like it's stuck in the past, and the plane crashed just last year. It's dirty, old, ugly, lifeless, and boring.

His contract expired and they didn't sign a new one.

You just described 99.9% of cities in WV.

They offered him one prior to the season. Salary increase. Length of years. But Hiff rejected it and sighted “buyout too large” as reason. It was 100% wife.
Neither one wanted to be in WV drug pipeline center from Detroit.

No other P4 team would hire RR. He isn't in demand except certain fans of one program. We will see if that feeling is also felt with those making a decision.

Which previous WVU coach had a 6 year run like RR (57 wins....not counting year #1)? Oh, and I'm sure someone will say "well he had Pat White and Slaton"........show me another coach that won at high levels that didn't have a stud RB and QB. I'll wait.........

Why hasn't he repeated the same success at 2 other P4 schools that had more to offer than WVU?

The longer this goes the less chance he has of returning and more chance WVU money pushers have at destroying the university.

I don't dispute his past success minus his last game. Try sticking to a point if you are going to quote someone

Sure you did.

There is nothing that guarantees he repeats what he did here before. There is nothing that guarantees anyone will repeat that success.

My expectations for the new coach including Rod is a minimum of 8 wins and maximum a national title. 8 wins should be considered a bad year. IMO.

Did he have either at Michigan or Arizona? Just because someone is a 4 or 5 star doesn't equal success.

I just wish they’d give an update or something
I think we are seeing the update with these other teams hiring coaches: UCF, Purdue dominos already fallen, with WVU's top three candidates not involved. Still have UNC which could potentially take one of the three.

You thinking tomorrow?
Tuesday. With decision being made tomorrow morning, contract negotiations tomorrow afternoon. And I am now way down on my prediction of Rich Rod. Again, nothing I am saying is 100% and could all be exaggerations from what I've been told or heard......from people that could be full of ****.......but I'm going to say 60% Andy Kotelnicki is the hire. The donors, former players, and politicians, are pushing him to hire Rich Rod.

Baker has went against the donors with the past 2 hires:

They wanted Kim Stephens (Caldwell), and he wanted and got Kellogg.
They wanted Dusty May, and he wanted and got DeVries.

So if it was his coaching ability in 7 years at WVU that got Slaton and White to WVU, then his 9 years at Michigan and Arizona where he couldn't get those great guys were due to what?

White and Slaton were not 5 stars. So, again, you are wrong.

Slaton was a highly under valued player and White, while he had intangibles, really only worked as a QB in RR's system which is why he came. Regardless, if it was RR's head coaching prowess that allowed him to get those guys, why couldn't he do it again in his 9 seasons at Michigan and Arizona?

Denard Robinson was pretty good in my opinion. His current QB Huff is very good for CUSA level.
