Yea I dont care, all this whining about Hurley and people that think he is an a-hole ... man stop crying about it. It honestly seems like people are looking for a reason to not like him because he is the enemy and turned us down to coach Kentucky.

All I see is a winner with a the competitive spirit. I can openly admit I wish he was our coach and I'm jealous.

3 final fours In 4 years. Thats like peak Cal and Pitino years.

People hated Calipari when he was at Memphis and said this and that, till he was our coach and winning. Winning is what matters. Cal was a great person to boot...and guess what, I bet Hurley probably is too... most people in coaching at heart are, you have to be to lead young men.

Dude....he's an arrogant prick. Sure, Pitino and Cal and K were to some degree but they never screamed at a ref they were the "best effing coach in the sport." He's an ***. Spent last year whining how they had to play back to back games in Maui. He's a sore winner and a sore loser.

NOBODY likes a dude like that. Even if they are right. Nobody wants give ******** like that the satisfaction.

I thought Cal was great when he was at Memphis. I even thought there were some things to like about Krzyzsewski, when he wasn't being a pretentious, self-righteous pr1ck, which was occasionally. But as far as I can tell Hurley is never not being a pretentious, self-righteous pr1ck. Tell that dude to get bent one more time for me.

Accept it and like it are two different things. I realized Cal was a jerk after his 2015 run and I never liked his personality after that because what was there really to like? Also, I was a younger man back then. If Hurley came here and if he were winning, then yeah I'd accept his antics as part of the price of winning but I'd definitely still be very loud about the fact that he was a d1ck.

Ditto.

Hurley is a prick. Talks down about opponent's and not in a "hey you did good but we still won kinda way". Reminds me a bit of Golden. And it's ok to have a little bit of that. But they take it overboard EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

They act like dicks when they win. And then act like spoiled brats when they lose.

The act gets old.

Just saw a clip where he reacts to the shot and walks toward the Duke bench mugging, then a ref points him to the his bench, and he puts his face right up against the refs. The guy is the biggest tool since Knight.
tool winner > cuck loser
Anyone that "Conner McGregor" walks on Scheyer is good with me....

Most good coaches are that way
Jay Wright wasn't. Tubby wasn't. Rupp wasn't- he might have been blunt- but I wouldn't call him a prick/dick.
Joe B certianly wasn't. And Rick for all his faults wasn't a complete ahole all the time.

I can't remember many interviews with Hurley where I didn't think "This dude is full of himself. " K, as much as he was a jackass, you could respect in terms of he was hard on himself and worked hard. Sure he worked refs over, but not like Hurley does. I never saw K or Rick or even Self chase down refs like Hurley does.

Dude's just a straight up ***.

If he had accepted our offer of whatever it was, something like $10 million a year for 7 years, and we were in the final four right now, do you think you would be saying anything about this right now?

It's like when coach k was at duke and taught all that flopping and they got all the calls (they still do, but flopping has gone by the wayside) ... I hated it and cosch k for teaching it... but I never complained publicly about it really because if nwenhad a coach doing it and winning us games doing it...its just winning.

Its also like Florida coach golden staying on the refs and working them...some people saying he is an A55 and complaing about him working the refs and at the same time we have a bunch of our fans complaining pope is too soft and doesnt even ever get on the refs in game....stands there and takes it.

This. This right here. We've all known that guy in workplaces where you put up with his ******** because he's good at his job. But the moment he slips? Metaphorical knives come out. Why? Again....nobody likes dealing with those people.

Can you paint me a picture of your ideal championship winning coach? Jay Wright isnt walking through that door
Currently coaching championship winning coaches? Love Pitino's public personality and have forgiven him whatever else. Find Donovan a bit goofy to be perfectly honest but not at all a d1ck. I don't have a problem with most of them. Bill Self, frankly, I'd be fine with in terms of his personality. Dan Hurley is a d1ck and has won championships. Nate Oats is a d1ck and has not won championships. It's not so much about the championships, for me.

I don't mind a little fire in a coach like Hurley/Golden. Again, like everything else, they don't know where the line is. I prefer more subtlty. Cal would wink at you after he kicked your tail in. Rick would knowingly smile, but not smirk per se. I think it's more so how you lose to. Both Hurley and Golden are major crybabies when they lose. Rick and early Cal weren't. Might sulk a bit, but they'd tip their hat and then try to win next time.

I just find it funny to get so selective about this when we've had strong personalities in the past. I don't really care about Hurley's antics because he's in a business where fans can be super rabid about their sports, I wouldn't say its healthy but I understand it.

Oh so its a national sentiment. Maybe Pope is the coach for you
lol....riiight.

Nah, I was raised to be a competitor but also be gracious win or lose; now that being said, I don't mind a little smack either. But the difference is I don't treat people like **** when the game is done. Which I don't think can be said much of Hurley/Golden/Oats from stories.

You'd have Hurley as your coach and you know it, that's what I'm saying
I wouldn't want him if any of a nice long list of other people were available, all with fewer championships except for Rick*. But yeah, if my only choices were Pope or Cal or Hurley I'd take Hurley in a second. Very odd for you to act like that's in any way hypocritical of me though.
