I was talking to a buddy of mine when the game was 5-0. He said the same thing. I agree. In pecking order, Erstad and the Baseball team SHOULD be the next program that needs to perform or changes needed.

From what I have read and heard on sports nightly, sounds like the kids have the right attitude that's been missing for several years. Sounds like they're hard working and want to be good. In the past,I'm, we've had a lot of chips on our shoulders without proving anything first.

What I love is the trust that honest actors build. The radio crew told a story about Kyle Perry over the last week-plus. Coaches know he will stay focused and put in the work, and just say "we're giving you Tuesday night, do your thing in Lincoln while we travel to Minnesota." Perry stayed in Lincoln, the coaches knowing he wouldn't be used in Minneapolis and the team wouldn't get back to Lincoln until 2am Monday morning (would have been about midnight had it not been a doubleheader).

Just one example, but you get the feeling the guys are focused and putting in the work.

EDIT: Radio crew also mentioned Alex Henwood as a tremendous upperclassman leader helping younger players with skills development and mindset. Invaluable asset, and tremendous that he is such an unselfish player. Would be easy for Henwood to be upset that he's having to play second fiddle behind younger players after being in the program so long (not that he's not contributing on the field when he enters the game, just that he sounds like a great teammate).

A couple other examples: Cam Chick's early struggles and learning while sitting the bench, Joe Acker's offseason improvement.

I don't expect the team to win the league, but all reasons to be excited about this team. Hopefully this team's culture improvement yields results in recruiting to once again have one of the best classes in the conference.

The B1G isn’t very good in baseball. That is true.
But it is the conference we are in.
Become the dominant baseball program in the B1G and then build out from there.

I came on here a couple weeks ago and said this was not a very good baseball team. I have to say they are in the process of proving me wrong. It was never hitting that was the major problem it was pitching and defense. The staff has turned it around. While the starting pitching was always fairly solid they have improved and now we are getting production from the relief staff. Here is to hoping this team continues its improvement and loves proving me wrong. And just as I type all of this we commit our third error. Bring it home guys!

Might have moved it up due to the impending rain coming in. We got dumped on here in lovely South Central Nebraska around 5 PM. Wind, heavy rain and lots of lightning. Glad they got the game in
