I have an old system at my office building that is on the blink again....leaking coolant badly and just needs to be updated.

I have 3-4 H&C guys coming this week to give me a quote. It's a hybrid system that has the cooling system, but the heating is natural gas.

What should it cost to replace the cooling system only...outside unit and inside coil with all new cooling lines under the floor?

I was quoted at $3200 to replace a 2-ton cooling system only as you described.

Chuck is rich. He should go solar powered geo thermal coolant/heating. That's what I'd do if I were as rich as Chuck.

What size and by hybrid do you mean it is an heat pump outside with gas furnace? Or do you mean it's a split with air conditioner outside and gas furnace? Assuming you want the cheapest way out on a office building.

Anyway, if you are getting 3-4 quotes you'll find something competitive. Just go with your gut and who you think will do the best job installing and servicing later. If you have questions about the bids you get I'd be happy to help you review them and remember you can negotiate.
