Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have deleted tweets that promoted an upcoming Wednesday afternoon hearing on “kids in cages” after being called out for using Obama-era images of migrants in detention to highlight current conditions at the border.
“Last week, members of our committee visited a detention center at the southern border and discovered grotesque treatment of children,” the first tweet, posted Tuesday afternoon, said. “This week, we are examining the inhumane treatment of the children in these detention centers.”
The photos, taken by The Associated Press, were from 2014, during the Obama administration, but were presented by liberal activists as if they showed the effects of Trump’s immigration policy now. Villaraigosa, Favreau and some others deleted their tweets when the mistake was pointed out.

No he isnt. Family seperation was his brainchild and that is the reason for this happening at such a high number. During Obama years the only children put in these places were unaccompanied minors. The Trump policy of family seperation was put in place as a deterrent to immigrants, and has led to a massive increase in the number of children being held. And now DoJ is arguing that they sont need to provide them basic hygiene products like soap.

That would be opinion not fact. If the facility is beyond capacity and resources are maxed, maybe they are dong the best they can with what they have to work with.

I once had a rep come in at 80% of goal, well below the 105% that the rest of the team delivered. I gave him an outstanding performance review because everyone else who had a similar market event came in at 40%. He made the most of a bad situation.

The Obama policy was to temporarily detain unaccompanied minors, detain families together, and separate children only when there were specific, individual concerns with the adults with them. All of these people were allowed to remain in the country, and not in custody, while awaiting a asylum hearing.
