its what truly separates us from the Purdue’s and Kentucky’s of the world. Many programs in our shoes would have cited the big buyout or “it’s just 1 bad year” refrain and kept Petrino in place. Proud to be a cardinal.

And you said he wouldn't be fired.

Glad you came around.

Had Petrino been retained, the Cards would have turned into the cayus.

As any open-minded person should, I reserved the right to change my opinion. After losing to Georgia Tech and BC, I was still in favor of keeping him, but the depths we reached truly had no bottom.

What further evidence did you need to SEE NOT to keep him.

White powder on his desk.

Beating WKU by 3. A WKU team that just has one win.

Down to 6 verbals for next season.

Nc state being the 6th team to score 50 on UofL.

Irs been evident since 2016, he needed to be fired.

Finally.

There's a difference between "refusing to suck" and "knowing how not to suck". You'll find out in short order how good Tyra is at the latter...

I think it will take a while to find out. You just count dollars. I count wins. The latter bring the former.

Petrino forgot how not to suck.

Jurich's record speaks for itself. "Sucking" ain't even on the list of choices...

Sucking is his legacy. It’s an ADs job to keep programs compliant, fire coaches when necessary, and keep the university’s good name in order. He couldn’t do any of those things and hired Steve Kragthorpe to say nothing of Bobby’s insane contract.

Jurich's list of accomplishments would run the length of this page. I'll post them if you want.

And he's not responsible for the clowns in place now NOT being able to clean up their mess. Jurich could handle that without a hiccup.

Some of you guys need to forget about Jurich except for the lessons we're learning by comparison. I get tired of the new U of L management team trying to dodge blame...

Tell that to the teams at the top of the largest athletics budget lists. They don't have money just because they win games...
Yes, ultimately they do. Where do the boosters come from? Why are there television dollars? Why do people buy tickets? Do you really believe people passionately support losers? Wake up, Zipp. This is America. We love winners and will not tolerate losers.

We’d also still be in CUSA without him, so keep things in perspective. Jurich was a rock star AD. Warts and all.

So why are large-market pro franchises consistently more successful than smaller markets? Exceptions happen in a given year and sport, but they're never sustained.

You have the cause-and-effect backward...

Jurich hired kragdud, Pitinos, rehired Lyin motorcycle man with a golden parachute.

He brought his legacy down with those 4 mistakes.

His legacy went from a 10/10 to 9.7/10. We are not P5 without him.

Not P5 without Petrino's and Strong coaching either, nor MD leaving.

Not firing that blew traitor that besmirched the basketball program.
Basketball is still King here, and Jurich was gutless to reign in the bastard
who cost UofL 127 wins, 2 FFs, a Title, and prestige.

With all of his warts, that old guy sure knew how to pack an arena. The new guy?...Not so much.

Yes, Jurich hired those guys that made football P5 relevant. Those basketball wins, they’ll be reinstated. Don’t worry about it. And, you can call Jurich a lot of things. Gutless isnt one of them.

What do you call not doing your job.

It was clear and Present that the blew clown deserved a pink slip.

Jurich was gutless to do it. Its why he got canned.

Yeah well the old guy brought the program to its knees. Which why Mack is here. He’ll build it back whether you like it or not.

And while he does, basketball revenue declines further into the dumpster. (Tyra just told us that...)

And they would have been fine if the old guy stayed. I think not. Just keep hoping the program goes south. I’m sure you’ll convince someone your a true UofL fan

Never said he was perfect. But Jurich built athletics into a monster that the current guy is tearing down...

We are all proud of Tyra’s efforts to get UofL back to where we all want it. TJ did an amazing job but he also hired people who got lazy and poor at overseeing their subordinates.
