If we want to sniff a bowl game we can't have Johnson as the QB. I hate to waste the redshirt but it's desperation time.
Exactly. You're assuming he's any better. I have to believe if he was anything at all they would be trying him.

This coaching staff is so ultra conservative...Hoak may be better but they're too chicken you know what to put him in.I agree....Coach Stoops' job is on the line....Coach Stoops would be playing Hoak if he was any better at this point.
This position has been managed terribly the last few years.
this^^^^^ Like I said. If we want to sniff a bowl game Johnson can't be the QB.If Gunnar Hoak is the QB of this team in five years, then this program will have made absolutely zero progress. So why care about burning a redshirt? Hopefully by the time it would even matter we will have improved the talent level to the point that we won't have to worry about it. I'm concerned about NOW; and clearly Stephen Johnson is not the answer.
No we aren't assuming anything. He probably won't do any better but you are at the point where there is no reason to come out of the lockeroom at half if you don't try something. We are basically dominating MSU at ever position but QB. And their QB sucks but they are still destroying us enough at that spot that a win is basically impossible. You're assuming he's any better. I have to believe if he was anything at all they would be trying him.
Should've gotten in v Bama, Johnson should play WR
Ok sorry WR or DB, may not be able to catch either
How about just warm the bench? Who the hell recruits a QB out of Junior College to come play db or wideout? He'd probably be even worse at those positions.
