I don’t follow women’s basketball even a little bit, but…

I am seeing on X that the Maryland team is taking a great deal of satisfaction… Even bragging… That they played our women close. One of their players said they proved that our players were not all that.

Overall, an odd attitude to have after being eliminated from the postseason.

Yeah, they are probably right that this year's Gamecocks aren't "all that." But that would make them, what, "less than that?" It does seem like an odd thing to say about the team that beat you.

If I was eliminated from the tournament, I think most of my comments about the team that did it would make them sound like the 85/86 Celtics.

I'm sure they hope we win it all - then they can really brag.

This is the ideal moment for the "scoreboard" chant.

I keep thinking that had Watkins not gotten injured, we beat Texas in Austin, and if Connecticut had beaten us, it would have been a close game. And we would have beaten Maryland more soundly.

I anticipate the second game vs Dook will be closer than the first.

I don’t know my X feed is filling up with WBB content, but just saw another dumb post: “Last year’s Iowa team beats this year’s South Carolina team by double digits.”

Ummm, ok, i guess. I would counter with “Last year’s South Carolina team beats this year’s Iowa team by 50.” As long we’re doing impossible make-believe matchups.

We made a pretty good blue print for beating the Gamecocks for teams going forward, by losing to them.

Yeah. That damn scoreboard argument wins every time.

It says a lot about Dawn Staley and SC women's basketball when 34-3 and a fifth consecutive Final Four is deemed, "Not all that."

What makes that hypothetical especially odd, however, is the fact that last year's Iowa team - the greatest in school history - played last year's SC team . . . and lost by double digits. And this year's Iowa team would lose to this year's SC team by double digits.

And that somebody would look for a blueprint to beat them that was drafted by a team that lost to them.
