I guess now we know why Vandagriff rode the bench at UGA

This was maybe the most surprising thing to me in the game. I really expected he would have a very good game, if not a great game. He was awful. Our DL deserves much of the credit for that, but I really was surprised at how bad he was. His QBR for the game was 1.2. We were plugging backups in, but it looked like UK's backup had some good wheels that added a dimension to the offense. If our DL harassed him like we did, I can only imagine what UGA is going to do.

He didn`t look good but he was running for his life whenever he had the ball. Reminded me of some of the times Spencer had to deal with stuff like that. Except somehow Spencer was able to make plays a lot of the time - he did not but it was his first start. And Stoops is the senior coach in the SEC now?

Im sure he would look better with Georgia players around him
Yeah, who wouldn’t? I know he was pressured a lot, but so was Spencer last year, and he still managed to look like a good quarterback. Vandergriff just looked over his head.

He's not done losing yet.
They can’t fire the winningest coach in school history. This is Kentucky we’re talking about.

He had 10 wins three seasons ago and seven wins each the last two years. He’s not going anywhere with that kind of success at Kentucky.

That depends on the extent to which he's not done losing yet.

Vandergriff is the classic PCS5S (Private Christian School 5 Star). He's a good physical specimen who lit up the stats playing against a bunch of 5' 9" slow white dbs in HS.
You have to be careful with that assessment. Some of those PCS5S from big cities are on teams loaded with the sons of your favorite NFL players that you see on Sundays and they will light you up. That may be true for your run of the mill Private Christian School in more rural areas, but the Christian Schools in the big cities recruit city-wide, play a national schedule and loaded with talent.

Kentucky is an interesting program to watch this year. If they don't significantly improve from Saturday, it's going to be a really long season.

I count two sure wins left on that schedule (Ohio, Murray State), four sure losses (UGA, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas), and four toss-ups (Vandy, UF, Auburn, Louisville). There's a path here for them to still get 7 or 8 wins, but it's also easy to see a path where the team just implodes.

If Kentucky finishes 4-8, what do they do with Stoops? What does Stoops do? His buyout is over $40,000,000. We know he doesn't want to be there anymore after his flirtation with A&M after last season. Is this a Calipari-like situation, where a good thing just has run its course and both sides need a fresh start? Can Kentucky afford the buyout? Would anyone want to hire Stoops away from UK?

Ratller was head and shoulders the best quarterback to ever play at South Carolina, and that includes the golden boy. Look back at Shaw's oline, receivers, running backs, and defense. Put Rattler on those teams. Yes indeed.
If Rattler had a real OC in 2022 with those weapons he would’ve took us really far that season.
