So I’m at hotel breakfast buffet in West Lafayette Indiana in a hotel mostly full of happy Badgers fans this morning and as I’m leaving I got a nice We Are from a PSU alum. Of course I’ve got my whites on. A good omen perhaps…. It made my day. We’re everywhere!

I live in a town of about 15,000 people in North Carolina. I wear a PSU t-shirt now and then, and the only comments I get are like, “Did you go there when Trump was in school there?” 😳
It’s all about the ACC down here. Most sports related shirts are UNC Tarheels and some Dallas Cowboy stuff. 🤮

We are you? I live in NC and I always run into PSU grads when I wear PSU gear.

Add the incredible Wieliczka Salt Mines just SE of Krakow, Poland, for a “We Are….” Ran into a delightful woman from KoP. And if any of us can help her out, she lost her hat in Berlin a few days ago, so if anyone finds it, let me know.

And FWIW, I’m getting better signal 600 feet below ground at the salt mine restaurant than inside the Big Beav!

So I was just at Starbucks here in NEW. JERSEY. o_O , mostly full of miserable rutgres athletic supporters. As I was getting a Pumpkin Spice Latte and blueberry scone, I got a, “Go f*ck yourself.” I also have the PSU whites on.
That's what you get for buying Pumpkin Spice Lattes and blueberry scones Bob.

Usually they say damn yankee. That is a yankee that is not just passing through but has moved permanent.

What a cool spot (Wieliczka Salt Mine) but Krakow is a beautiful city/town. Obviously there is also some amazingly depressing but imo necessary visits to historical spots around the area as well.

And add the Kehlsteinhaus, aka the Eagle’s Nest, where our PSU party ran into another four or so Lions heading up to the summit from the restaurant. The sun terrace where “BoB” showed Dick Winters and Lewis Nixon celebrating V-E day, and honestly the entire engineering of the house, road, elevator, is a feat.

I went to a wedding reception on Saturday night between a couple that met at Penn State and danced in THON together. They opened the reception by handing out white shakers and then playing "Zombie Nation." It set the tone quite nicely.

Add to this thread a very loud and hearty "We Are..." from a fellow grad this afternoon at the ruins of Roman Forum. He was also wearing a Phils hat, so we had a quick chat hoping Wheeler brings us another W this evening (too late for me with a midnight first pitch here in Rome), while lamenting the sultry conditions (weather, not Sophia Loren or Sofia Vergara as they would be appreciably sultry) here. It's been mid-upper 80s the past several days and hit 90 this afternoon. The long hot autumn. It's amazing that this place is a couple degrees north of State College, but I'm seeing palm trees and citrus trees. Mediterranean climate, I presume.

(Also, FWIW, I got a "Go Pitt" the other day roaming the streets of Venice.) And final FWIW, but I've seen and met more Utahns this trip than back in the US. And they were nice, despite the Rose Bowl manhandling.

“ruins of the Roman Forum”

You’d think they’d have a FACILITY. MASTER. PLAN. o_O . How embarrassing.

For f*ck’s sake, PSU’s Forum is a far better facility.

All of the Facility Master Planning resources world wide have, until recently, been sucked up by Ms. Excellence. Don't believe me? Ask Pat Kraft; he's got the paper to prove it.

Last weekend I gave a We Are to two people at the Locks Of Sue Saint Marie MI. They were from Erie and they have season tickets. Both of their kids played in the Blue Band. Very nice couple.

Look at all the money PSU is saving on doorstops.

We toured that Salt Mine 4 years ago. An amazing place, couldn’t believe the big cathedral they carved. The wife bought a salt lamp there. IMG_2028.jpegIMG_2032.jpeg

Seems strange. I’ve never noticed. But then again I don’t think I’ve been there since my daughter graduated from there in ‘97.
Unlike undergrad population, The grad students are from all over the country.
