do you have a favorite or say at least one Tar Heel player you did actually like and respect. I have to admit that I do. It was Bobby Jones and he played in the early 70's. Probably only OFC guys remember him and knew how he played. Great defensive player, unselfish, classy with great character and integrity. Sounds like a Duke guy right. Was ever so happy to see him graduate because it was so hard to hope he played bad. Went on to have a fine NBA career with the 76er's. One of the few former Tar Heels that played in the NBA that is not a top 50 all time. :D I know this is gonna be tough and this will probably be a really short thread but if you do have one that you are willing to give some credit to let us know. I separate my dislike for the team from the way I feel about the players. There have only been a handful I really disliked. Believe it or not I knew and liked Matt Doherty when he was playing at UNC. Have a hard time seeing his coaching time and reconciling it with the Matt I knew.

I'm gonna go with MJ because he's the reason I started watching college basketball when I was a little kid...which was a few years before I became a Duke fan when Danny Ferry and Johnny Dawkins came to Duke.

We're on the same wavelength, Sky. It has to be Bobby Jones. Great player, and an even better person. Would love to have had him on Duke.

I always liked Ellington. Wished he had come here to show off that shooting touch.

Other than him, I can't really think of anyone. I respected Montross, but Ellington is a player I wish we'd had.

I actually liked several of them like Bobby Jones and Jordan and Worthy and felt sorry for Rasheed Wallace because he had the mange.

Quienten Thomas. Every time I watched him play he was turning the ball over, like every time. I loved him!

1) Hubert Davis, seems like a great guy

2) Bobby Jones, seems like a great guy

3) Eric Montross, seems like a great guy--can take a punch
