A Cat fan taking the loooooing view would root for Tennessee.

Kentucky is defending its position as THE Greatest Program in college basketball history. UCLA is one of a very few programs that has some partial claim to being in that conversation. So, no more accolades for them, please.

It would take Tennessee a hundred years to be in that conversation for Blue Blood program.

UCLA is such an easy root for me. They've been harmless in my opinion for years. And they'd be an easier draw than trying to beat UT three times.

On top of that, if Kentuckt bows out, I'd rather have Houston make a run and potentially stop Duke. I don't see UT doing that, so I'd rather have UCLA move on and potentially be a somewhat easy Final4 game for Houston.

This is the correct answer, cheer for SEC, cheer for UT. [sick]

IF we’re fortunate enough to win tomorrow it would be huge for tickets in Indy to have UT and Purdue lose today. Thus I’ll be rooting for McNeese and UCLA. Not because I think the crowd has a huge impact but so our fans get to go that want to and hopefully at a cheaper number.

Meh. Kentucky doesn't need Tennessee to win to enhance the view of the program. UCLA hasn't been anywhere close to Kentucky for about two and a half decades now. They had a little revival between 2006-2011, but as far as "blue bloods" go, it's been pretty underwhelming.

I think Tennessee should handle business today. It's anything past the second round that has given Tennessee fits during the Barnes era. Some Volunteer people think Barnes may hang up the whistle at the conclusion of this year. I can't find any source to back that up though.

Idk why anyone with a brain would root for the more challenging sweet 16 opponent for UK but to each their own.

Watched UCLA several times this season here in Big Ten land .... no choice at times. Was never impressed. I'd be really surprised if UT loses today.

That said, I can't see UK beating UT for a THIRD time this season, especially with the injuries and how the team is playing lately. It would require one of UT's random clunkers where they go stone cold.

UCLA won't make it much farther, so I'm pulling for them because Tennessee is the bigger threat to Kentucky this season.

How can anyone be above UCLA? 11 championships with 10 in a 12 year timeframe. We have 8 in 72 years. No-one is in the conversation other than UCLA. You can add Duke and UNC together and that would be 11, same as UCLA. I love our Wildcats but we need 4 more to claim that title.

I assume you read my post, and I referred to Kentucky as the Greatest Program in College Basketball History. I didn't say 'has the most titles.'

Many, many groups of experts have assessed the history of college basketball and ranked the top programs and Kentucky is always ranked #1 -- by Sagarin, the AP, ESPN, CBS, the Athletic and several others. They use different metrics, weighting things like All Time Wins, Tournament wins, Final Fours, conference championships and many more. Whatever formula is used, Kentucky always ranks #1 and UCLA ranks somewhere around #5.

Titles is how individuals are judged. Titles are how organizations are judged. Titles are how coaches are judged. Titles are what universities are judged. MdWildcat55, I certainly understand your position. I think we both are correct in how we feel. I am just glad we have the program we have.
