I see a scenario at play

This years coaching changes is NUTS.....and with Lincoln Riley leaving OU for USC, it will get even crazier.

The Stoops connection to OU is VERY real.... and with Mark Stoops building Kentucky and doing well there after given ample time to build the program, and with his very strong connection to OU, if OU pursues Mark Stoops, I imagine he would take that offer, which then opens up Kentucky.

If there is a vacancy at Kentucky........ Who do you think they will target?? Do you think Neal Brown is on that list? I would imagine he is, whether or not hes at the top, but Kentucky is the one program that could lure Brown away from WVU, considering he played & coached there...

This could get ugly....

If Kentucky wants him, they can have him. I'm very much apathetic toward Brown at this point and would hope WVU wouldn't even negotiate if someone else came sniffing around for Brown. It's just as likely Kentucky would be doing us favor taking Brown now as it would be a detriment to WVU's future.

Who would you hire to replace Brown? With the resources WVU has to deploy, what realistic option would be a better hire, in your opinion?

Haven't much thought about it since I know WVU is stuck with Brown unless he chooses to leave. That's a highly unlikely turn of events even in this scenario. All I am saying is if a team offers Brown a better deal than he has now like Houston did with Holgorsen, I hope WVU doesn't even come to the negotiating table. Brown hasn't given any reason across 3 seasons to justify a new contract.

fyi - Genuinely curious who you may think WVU could bring, under this hypothetical...

Lance Leipold

Hugh Freeze - Depends how he interviews and if he passes a very detailed background check to make sure his booty call days are behind him

Jeff Traylor

Kalani Sitake

Luke Fickell

Dan Mullen

Jamey Chadwell

Those are a few HC's that I think we could get, though Luke Fickell is probably holding out for something bigger.. Lance, Jeff, & Jamey would be my top 3.. We need a coach who knows how to do more with less, and most of those coaches have def proven that over their career.

Some of you act as if we can just call someone on the phone and their an automatic hire. Jeff Traylor was born in Texas and has never been coaching outside the state of Texas except a 1 year stint at Arkansas.

Kalani Sitake is at home with BYU (48-28) he's not leaving a place that he is an alumni nor is successful at. He's neve been out of the state of Utah except a 1 year stint at Oregon State and 1 year Arizona State. Besides BYU is entering Big 12 so why leave and WVU is not matching any bidding war with him.

Luke Fickell has already turned us down once and many SEC schools.

I wouldn't get Dan Mullen to clean my toilet much less coach.

Hugh Freeze his name alone explains his poor attitude with media.

I would at least call Brent Venables but that would be a long shot as he is possible OU next coach considering he was there 11 years.

Jamey Chadwell would be my first call but he more than likely says no.

After Jamey I have no idea?
