I feel sure that the kids that are recruited by Kentucky know the score ..................... and the cash count. Cal doesn't have to say................play for me. I feel like the $$$$ does the talking for him.

Blame the stupid rule that believes 1 year of college will mature a kid. That said.....I still say Cal leaves them on probation some day!!!

I'm sure you are. No crying here. We're not scared. If you beat us close or beat us bad then we'll tip our hats to you. But we're not coming to lose (I know Huggs & the players aren't & the fans here will always back them). That's why the games are played. I respect what Cal has done with this group though. Not easy to corral all of those egos & make them play together. This is the best college basketball team we've seen in a long time imo. We'll give it our best shot & if that's not enough then that's all I can ask of this team. They have already advanced much further than I expected before the season started and I'm very proud of what they have accomplished win or lose on Thursday.

Read the NCAA report...It says he was not responsible for either of those infractions.......Do some research before you cast stones.......and not just speak out of ignorance

Really, Steve?! Thanks for enlightening me with your University of Kentucky education (which apparently doesn't entitle you to comprehending the essence of a comment). I'm so glad you stopped by to let me know we won't be playing Kentucky in football this coming Thursday (good thing for you). Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Actually, I'm not sure in which camp you reside, the handful of Kentucky fans who can call themselves UK alums or the thousands upon thousands of Kentucky fans who can purchase a poorly made UK shirt at a local Wal-Mart. Whichever it is, I appreciate the fact that you come onto our message board and jab at us with such wit and originality. I only wish my alma mater could boast more like you (Yes, I said alma mater. I am an actual graduate of WVU.)

I hope you enjoy your NCAA tournament. I really do. Be it one more game or four, title or none, it's a special thing when a state university can hire a coach under the cloud of NCAA allegations, take advantage of the one-and-done rule, place a collection of NBA players on the floor, have them take online classes such that they remain in "good academic standing" (as your AD likes to term it), and beat up on schools with actual student-athletes...only to see whatever banners are won removed within ten years. I hope you enjoy the spoils of whatever it is the University of Kentucky is trying to do. Should you win a national championship, pray to God it's never rescinded. If it's not, be thankful that your alma mater or the object of your affection (whichever it is) was able to rent a few kids for seven months to allow thousands of Kentuckians a lifetime of bragging rights at their local watering holes.

Here's hoping toughness, work ethic, and true student-athletes win over a temporary collection of NBA rookies. If not, kudos to you. Enjoy it for what it's worth. You can even root for your favorite team again next year. They'll be called the Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers, and the various D-League destinations to which your rent-a-players are drafted and/or assigned. As for us, we'll play the right way. Win or lose Thursday evening, your rentals will know they've been in a game. Fire up the hot tub, Steve. After all, the ice bath is for football.

Camby's family took money from an agent

UMass was penalized on the grounds that Camby, college basketball's player of the year that season, had become ineligible after he accepted gifts from a sports agent. Under N.C.A.A. rules, an athlete may not accept money, gifts or any other benefit from an agent.
Several weeks after the tournament, The Hartford Courant quoted Camby as saying that he had taken gifts from Wesley Spears, a lawyer from West Hartford, including jewelry worth $5,300. Camby said Spears wanted to represent him as a sports agent and that Spears threatened to tell the news media about the gifts. Spears has since been charged with extortion in his dealings with Camby. Camby has said he also received gifts from another sports agent.
Camby, who was a junior at the time, left school to sign with the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association as the second draft pick. He was recently named to the league's all-rookie team.
Derrick Rose had somebody take his SAT test for him before he ever committed to Cal at Memphis...

The player was accused of having another person take his SAT exam in Detroit so he would be eligible as a freshman after failing the ACT three times in Chicago.
Memphis argued that the university did not have enough information to substantiate the allegations in November 2007 and cleared him to play. Memphis officials defended their investigation Thursday and said four people interviewed the player, with neither Calipari nor athletic director R.C. Johnson involved.
"That person responded that he took the test, and we believed him," university legal counsel Sheri Lipman said.[/URL]

Tin, it helps to know what you're talking about sometimes.

I do know...Where in there does it hold CAL accountable? Rose wasnt even committed to Cal when he took his test. A dozen schools where still recruiting him at the time. Camby was at fault. No where does it say CAL. These are are post or news reports. I said read the NCAA final report. But of course you wont.

To paraphrase Dan Aykroyd from his SNL days, "Steve, you ignorant slut." It's your inability to understand the essence of a comment coming back to bite you again. If you could comprehend what you read and step outside the world of believing everything revolves around, or is directed at, you for one moment (typical UK fan), you'd realize Keaton is making an argument in support of your stance. He calls out a poster above, Pushingtin, or whatever his screen name is. Good grief, Steve!
