I think we meet again in Arlington

Great game Sooners. Chins up. This is team we expected on our end all offseason. We smoked Mizzou. Overlooked Tulane for you guys and didn’t even show up. Don’t take Tulane loss as to how we are. Our team has all the pieces to win the league. And everyone knew that going in. So you lost to a team most people expect 9-3 to 10-2 this year and playing in Dallas.

with that said, and what I saw from OU first three games and the “down” year for the league (Baylor, Pokes, ISU losing a ton, Texas trying to resurge, the new coaches etc), I think we play again in Dallas in December.

there are no really bad teams this year in the league so more upsets will come. Even WVU at the bottom just beat VT on the road. And had Pitt beat on the road too. And now KU is good. No elite teams but no bad teams so league will be tough. If Texas beat Bama I’d call it the best league this year top to bottom easily. Big 10 west worst division they’ve had since inception. PAC 12 better but lots of bad. Sec very good again but plenty of bad too. ACC blah

oU has a shot to become elite as season progresses.

Thanks for your comments and sentiments.
But, OU is not a very talented team this year.
If we meet again Arlington, the BIG 12 may not survive OU and TX departure to the SEC.
Your meeting with the JaySquawks could be an interesting game.

The most likely scenarios at this time have neither of these two teams in Arlington.

Oh, come on. I just watched that game for the third time. For the last 20 years, Oklahoma has been a destroy them or crumble type of team. Last night, they kept fighting and did a damn fine job to fight back. We spotted 14 points and still made a game out of it if it weren't for that stupid 3rd and 17 boner we pitched.

Not talented? What the heck? I could only name a couple of Sooners from the last 10 years of teams. I can name just about the entire roster this year. We have talent. That shouldn't be an excuse coming out of anyone's mouth.

BTW, speaking of talent... Adrian Martinez is quite literally a man playing amongst boys. I don't find it very embarrassing to lose to an athlete like that. He's been scary since the first day he stepped on a college campus, and now he has a bunch of years behind him.

Not sure what you mean on sec. You guys and Texas are stuck till 2025. We have the 4 coming in and a new solid TV deal. We’ll be fine. But won’t be what it was.

you aren’t bad. OU is better than last year. Trust me. Don’t let this game define your team. I think OU can run the table here. It’s a different defense. It’s just Adrian who is like 28 years old played the game of his life. He had Michigan, Ohio state and sparty beat last year and blew it at the very end in all of them. Now he’s finally finishing.

BV needs to ensure Kanak is a starter. Bottom line. There’s some other roster things I’d change on defense. Never impressed by broiles going back to when he got torched by LSU in 2019. Surely there is a better safety than broiles.

He’s just finally coming out with a fan base that doesn’t hate his azz. He was cursed in Lincoln for some reason. Even tho his stats were excellent.

we’re just letting him play without fear now. Tulane game I swear someone gave him 3 Xanax pre game. He looked like a ghost facially. The Mizzou game and last night is who we are

For sure, he's a bright guy. It was like he was in our huddle. Every time we blitzed, he found the crease and ran. Every time we spied, he dropped in the pocket and delivered a dime. Smart athlete, for sure.

I also take exception to humbles comment about OU being untalented. To me, it's a sore loser move trying to steal thunder away from the winners. I think Oklahoma genuinely has a pretty damn talented team this year, and Kansas State should absolutely enjoy this win, because they beat a damn fine team that kept fighting back. There was no let up or quit, and y'all still pulled it out.

the 247 roster talent composite has OU at 7. The roster is solid. Well better than USC’s.

and will only improve with BV and Lebby. I think recruiting takes a step up under those two. Not down.

OU also will be able to compete against a uGA, Bama and LSU with current regime. Don’t lose your head over just this game.

As disappointing as the loss was, I would have loved to have seen AM deck that punk OU male cheerleader who got in his face on the sideline at the end of the game.

The 3rd and long play it looks like White was the spy, that would have been where I would liked to see Kanak.

Nailed it. White is a great LB and is senior to kanak by years.

I’d put kanak where stutsman is to start and start white and ogweobu as well.

or just rotate Kanak in a bunch in two of those spots

He was the best QB on the field when we played them LAST YEAR as well

Martinez has been always a stud athlete who frequently screwed up his own team with horrible often non forced mistakes. But he was close to flawless Saturday night. We've made three or the last four quarterbacks we've played, look pretty good running the ball. That can't be a coincidence.

Venables defense is complicated. Four games in, we're making mistakes that we won't make as much of next year. But we're going to have so growing pains. The coach may not what every playing is supposed to be doing on every call, but I don't think the players do yet. And we are going to spend some more time enduring growing pains.

I have settled down and reasoned with myself over this loss. I can see that I may have overshot my runway a bit (CT called it). But I think we have the pieces to do bigger and better things. How long will it take? I don't know but I believe we have the staff to work on the issues each week so we must have faith that things will be better each week. I will be able to handle a couple more losses at a far lower blood pressure rate.

Jerry Palm still has OU winning the conference and facing Tennessee in the Sugar Bowl. Fingers crossed!!!

Scottsdale, all new staff. New offense. New defense. It’s very rare for all this to mesh year one. I’m really confident in the future. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Time is on on our side. BOOMER.

I'm thinking we had a great staff put together, but when the snafu with Cale Gundy came, we lost a vital cog. Right now who is on the sideline to talk to Gabriel when he needs a little coaching? We have nobody on this staff who ever attended a college quarterback meeting in his career, as a quarterback. We went from having two of those guys last season, to none now. I think it's a small gap, that might be bigger.

There are just some logistical issues going on, that comes in part from having a new head coach. He's a fast learner, but he's still learning. And we're just a little short of the talent advantage we typically have in most conference games. Add to that, a whole new offense and a whole new defense and problems show up.

BV says he wants he players stressing themselves. But stressed offensive linemen, in a max sped up offense, sometimes jump snap counts when they are having a lot to think about. Mental errors killed us against KState. And until the details of the offense and the defenses become second nature, it will very likely happen again.

He's sorta right though JC. We have talent, but we're light in the depth dept. Especially at QB and Backer. We're in a building mode for sure. But I do think this team will improve as they play. This staff will insure this happens.

TCU will be a challenge.
