Interesting point on 1620 this morning, we've been talking about POB and Gebbia, we're also getting Tanner Lee from Tulane in the mix for the 2017 starting job.

Gebbia looks about like I did in HS, so the more time he can have to eat right and hit the weights, the better.

Well if you listen to the "experts", Gebbia is not worthy of a scholarship and Riley should pull the offer. Oh, and Eichorst fired Yori without a reason. Maybe they can come here and tell us why they insist on ripping on any kids that sign with Nebraska the last couple years? We could all learn from them I am sure.

POB backs up Tommy this season, waving his red shirt. Next season POB starts and Lee is number two, Gebbia RS to add weight. Season after that POB is a junior starter and back up Gebbia is a RS Frosh. Then POB goes pro and RsS Gebbia gets the nod. Hey it could happen. #McWorld!

I'll be curious to see whether they play POB if they don't have to. So many factors go into that. If they get a situation like last year where Tommy needs to miss one game, would they burn his RS or start Fyfe?

yeah, that is the interesting question... not for 1 game, but at what point do you say yes to that?

If he's got the offense down I would find a way to get him on the field. Unless the coaches are asleep the first two games are ideal for playing time.

I would be OK with burning pob red shirt if it keeps fyfe out of a meaningful game. Hate to crack on a kid like that but we seen what he can do.

Fyfe threw 4 picks against Purdue and we lost the game, he also threw for four TD's and 400 yards! I like this staff but they are throw first guys. We lost two games minimum, Purdue and Illinois, from that philosophy last year. POB is the ONLY QB available that can do what is needed in this system. Use POB to spell TA when he needs to cool off, use that time to coach him up and let POB check down to receivers and hand the ball off.

Can't play Fyfe, tried that and lost to PURDUE, Riley can't give a game away in year two, not an option.

I'm glad you know POB so well, being he hasn't taken 1 college snap. Smdh.
We don't know POB that well but we know Fyfe and he'll never win us a game, the has been a deer in the headlights every time he's entered a game.

Agreed. Sure they are ignoring their vices and providing their kids; tutors, nutritionalists, team and study hall guidance, Mentors the ages of our coaches, rigorous exercising and testing goals and equipment - well thats a start; but I am sure they cover all that and more. And they talk academics; you can get anywhere from UNL ; which has some top programs and there is national testing for most careers; not too mention of course - with the superior effort dedicated to goals, the grade averages of some of the kids they are in class with is really going to effect them in career choices ??? Even we only have a few who are trying to be rocket scientists.

I agree with ThereIsNoPlace... I mean, after all, we all know Armstrong, Fyfe, Bush, etc all were recruited as pro style guys, right? Oh wait... I guess the only guy on the roster this coming season specifically recruited as a pro style guy is POB...

On second thought, ThereIsNoPlace is just being his usual cheerful self when it comes to the huskers... So positive and uplifting!

I don't think Lee came here planning on being #2. I think he plans to start, tear it up and get drafted. That may not happen of course, but I wouldn't count him out.

Depends who is 2nd string doesn't it. But if POB is #2 and there is 2-3 games remaining I would play RF.

I am likely in the minority here but there is a reason Fyfe keeps beating out the new up and comers. Last year it was Bush and Darlington. Now it appears he's holding above POB. I think he will be our number two and would get the nod if TA goes down and I think he would actually perform favorably.

Yes the guy threw four picks in his first start with limited prep. But he throws a nice ball and likely learned a ton from that experience. I'm not saying the team wins a championship with him, but I think there are worse backups on rosters.

I think Armstrong and Fyfe hold it down this year. I would love to see POB but only the coaches can determine that. I really hope the QBs recruited/brought in for this system make things look easy. Not a knock on TA, but sometimes I feel he try's to hard sometimes. Sometimes it's an amazing play, and sometimes it's WTF I need to buy a new TV moment. So please POB, Gebbia or Lee take this opportunity and may the best man win.

Play him. I think POB is mentally strong enough, stable enough in his approach to the game and his development that he can play and get better. From what I have read the kid is a preparation junkie. Coach L says he makes all the throws. I think getting him 1 or two series a game would be a very good thing.

Fyfe being ahead of POB after a couple weeks of spring practice is no guarantee it stays that way. One of them has been playing CFB several years, the other several weeks.
