If this is statistic does not induce the deepest level of soul-searching, then shut the program down

We were outrushed 287 to -9.

That is a comically mind numbing disparity. Both numbers include sack yardage so we can’t lean on that to explain the low number.

This statistic should lead to a meeting first thing this morning in the AD’s office to answer the question “what are you doing to fix it?”, with concrete and immediate answers demanded.

There is no talking your way around -9 yards rushing.

I don’t even know what we’re doing at this point.

That conversation will take place in December. JD won't interfere during the season.

We scored a ton of points in 1995......just gave up a ton more.
And we gave up a ton of rushing yards that year too, most of our scoring came against the bad teams in our schedule: 68 vs La Tech, 77 vs Kent State, 65 vs Miss State, and 52 vs Vandy. We got torched and ran over that year by every team we played except Vandy, Kent State, and somehow they played well vs the run against LSU(though we could still only salvage a tie in that one). I still don't think I've seen another defense have three RBs get conference player of the week against them in the same season. It was as if the next RB that came up on the schedule was saying "you thought that performance that dude put on them was special, well hold my beer and watch this!"

At least not another defense in the SEC, I did watch some Big XII football years back for the shootouts, and that defense West Virginia had in 2012, or the one Texas Tech had in 2016, might have.

Miss State in Starkville. Hung 65 on 'em. Had to, because they kept scoring too.
Side note to Mississippi State, that RB they had at that time. Didn't know until a couple of years ago when I saw a video on CFB players who passed away in college, that he drowned in a swimming pool just before his Senior season. R.I.P to him.

Courtesy of DC Wally Burnham. One of the worst DC's we've ever had by far-and we've had some bad ones.

I also remember in '07 when Carolina fans were recommending DC Tyrone Nix personally go to the Heisman ceremony and hand out the trophy to either Tebow or McFadden as they were gifted Heisman worthy performances courtesy of our defense that season.

This definitely should have happened.

"Shut it Down!"

OK Captain Obvious.

This is easily the most estrogenic BOT in the forum as of today.

I expect the same usual platitudes. SEC road games aren't for the faint of heart. Mizzou is a doggone good team. Nobody has had success running the ball on them. We all could've done better, players and coaches, and that starts at the top with me.
Well, for sure he ain't gonna say, "we suck."

They played Central Arkansas, Louisiana and Kansas. Kansas has a pulse, but they're not SEC ready.

Mizzou is run or bust. Their QB is walk-on quality. They will get killed by somebody who knows how to stop the run.

Burnham was one of my high school coaches. We won the 4A state championship game 8-0 the year before he left. He's had success everywhere he's been. He's won the national championship. Then he came here. I'm starting to wonder if there's something in the water in Columbia.

Some coaches will go their whole careers and never see their team put up -9 yards rushing.
