The link has us rated at about 30+ in recruiting. Really?

When will these recruiting sites give us credit? We are in the final four........

Edit: I think we have been underrated for years by these pundits. Shows how much they know about our former classes.............

Ignore them like you ignore fans that think we should fire a coach after every loss. They are few and far between anyway.

Eh, it's a dumb metric that doesn't mean squat.

Like, for example...the #1 class for 2015 was USC, with 4 so called 5 star players.
I don't need to remind you that they're rocking 5 losses to date, and might lose their bowl against the Badgers.

Yes, I'm aware of the coaching turmoil, but still...just saying.

Just for reference, OU ended up #14 in last years class.
So clearly, all that glitters isn't gold.

I don't disagree that the metric is stupid. But I think the USC example is off a bit. A program isn't made by one recruiting class, regardless how many quality kids it has. It's made by consistent rock-solid classes year in, year out (like OU). Using one class and expecting huge returns from that one class isn't all that fair.

But yes, stars are stupid.

Absolutely this!!! I can't stand all the hoopla and such over recruiting rankings, how many stars a kid has, etc. And it certainly isn't a direct reflection of what a team is ranked or if that program is in the playoff or not. Recruiting rankings I suppose are there to give rabid fans something to talk about to keep chatter up.

When we get a 5 star, we spout, "He's a 5 star"

When we don't get a 5 star, we spout, "Sammy wasn't a 5 Star!"

The odds are greater that the higher the kid is ranked, the better that he performs. Unfortunately, not so much for IU though.
