If we get past Texas (I know, I know, but indulge me): Do we want UConn or UCLA?

I feel like UConn is peaking at the right time and probably has the best player in the country (who is also peaking). I would think they are the favorite to win it all at this point.

I'd actually say I'd rather see us play UConn. We have no one who can match up with Betts. I understand not many teams have 6-7 ladies that can, but even from a weight and girth standpoint we have no one. UConn, on the other hand, is very guard heavy just like us with a lot of athletes. Not saying that means we automatically win obviously, but I believe it would be a better matchup for us from a personnel standpoint.
And also consider the worst case scenario of a loss...who wants to stomach seeing Geno get another championship? UCLA is the obvious choice here, in my opinion.
What impressed me is that our losses this season were exclusively at the hands of the other three teams in Tampa.

Take our chances with UCLA. UCONN is on fire and Bueckers, Fudd, and Strong are arguably better than anyone we have.
We want the loser of the UCLA-UConn game. But we ain't gonna get it. I suspect we will get UConn and that they will vaporize us.
Texas should be a toss-up. We would be underdogs, I think, with whoever would be the other finalist. UConn looks pretty unbeatable right now so I would take UCLA and try to get the tall girl in foul trouble. This is what happens when Bueckers is healthy and they were able to land Fudd and Strong.
Any of these teams can be beat in a one game scenario. A game in February is not the same as one game for the trophy. Seen some strange things happen in championship games. If I had to bet, I would pick UConn, but wouldn't be surprised at all if we win it. I know a good game is in us by just thinking about last year. Can Tessa finally make some shots? Can Pao-Pao hit some too. That happens and the dynamic shifts somewhat.
Carolina would much rather play UCLA than UCONN - that 30 point beat down earlier this year gives UCONN a whole lot of confidence.
The fear on this board is priceless. If our girls can shake the nerves, a title is very possible. Should be a fun weekend
Which translates to two things, knocking down jumpers consistently and limit turnovers.
Exactly….if UConn for example, shoots the same as they did when we played them, we are toast. No one was beating them that day. Plus we shot as bad as we ever have. We’ve also had games where we can’t miss. So we’ll see what happens.
And personally, i think if we play Tx 10 times we beat them 8. Hopefully tomorrow is one of the 8
Tonight's UCLA vs UConn game, has not changed my mind on who would of been easier for us to beat, but what a matchup in the final now!
UConn is well coached & quicker than gnat grease running the weave to set up screens & either popping a 3 or finding open player for easy basket.
Figure out how to disrupt the flow & take em outta their bread & butter.
Of course, I'm just a simple man whose proficiency in BB lies many levels below whale manure & that's on the bottom of the ocean.
I just want this final game to be epic. 2 great coaches, 2 storied programs w/ players who are household names across the fruited plains. Both battling tooth & nail down to the final seconds. EPIC!!

Revenge is a big motivator, especially with the championship as icing on the cake.
We did not play well in the 1st game.
Disrupting UConn will come down to how physical the refs allow the girls to be. If we’re getting called for body fouls then we lose. We have a chance if we can be physical enough to throw off their timing.
We struggle when we play a team with equal talent and coaching. Every shot we take is a struggle.
Not so much for UCONN. They have a plan.
They also have a clear team leader. We don't have anyone that takes control.
