If you can't get Jeff Brohm, would you still want Petrino fired?

1,000,000% Yes.

Talk with Venebles....I don't think he takes it but you at least have to approach him.

Mike Norvell, Matt Campbell, Matt Rhule, Jason Candle, Seth Littrell.

Not a Louisville alum or anything and many others will have better ideas than I will, but here goes.
1. Lance Leopold HC Buffalo- has turned Buffalo around, Team is 8-1 and apparently a good. solid team. He's won 5 National Titles at Wisconsin-Whitewater.
2. Manny Diaz DC University of Miami- 44 year old who has been around Miami, Texas FSU LA Tech. Is a highly-thought-of guy who is young, energetic and would re-energize the team and fan base immediately.Knows how to recruit S. Florida
3 Doc Holliday HC Marshall- Offensive guy who is 20 games over .500 at a mid-major in West Virginia. Knows offensive football and Louisville would probably be his last stop.
4.Seth Litrell HC North Texas Young head coach who is doing good things at UNT. only 40 and is a rising star in the coaching ranks. Imagine what he could with access to Louisville's infrastructure, fan base and financial resources. Is also familiar with TYexas high school recruiting

If we got Doc Holliday the 7 fans that show up to the games can call it whatever they want.
I don’t get it.

A FB coach with a winning record in a very tough spot is ABSOLUTELY unworthy, while an AD with zero experience is the second coming.

How can one fan base have such diametrically opposed views?

The name, and your local HS, carries a lotta weight around here.

He's a solid coach. No doubt....but I mean, are you gonna get excited if we hire 62 year old Doc Holliday? Is the hiring of Doc Holliday going to move anyone's excitement needle even a little? Is hiring Doc Holliday gonna increase season ticket sales? I can see that hire going over with a huge thud.

Its an irrelevant discussion. I have absolutely no way of verifying this but I can almost certainly with 100% accuracy guarantee you that Doc Holliday will not even be on ULs radar, let alone get hired.

If you going to hire doc holliday then you might as well hire les miles. To me it seems like this new regime isnt going to spend top dollar for a football coach. So with that in mind i think we go the coordinator route which isnt a bad thing. My choices are.
1. Mel tucker- defensive coordinator at georgia. Knows the south well and has also coached under saban. Would bring some new energy and some physicality to this team.
2. Brent venables- i personally think he is waiting for a sec job but would bring the same as mel tucker plus he knows the acc.
3. Les miles- yea i know he is 64 but again he will bring a physical defense that we need and as far as offense he cant do any worse. Plus getting 4 years out of him and then having him retire after that may not be a bad thing. Just look at what steve spurrier did at south carolina

Yes, the replacement might suck but we already know that Petrino is terrible. I'll take the possibility of failure over the certainty of failure any day.

After Brohm i'd go after Ryan Day, venables, or Dave Aranda. If you want to go the HC route, I'd say Mike Norvell, Josh Huepel, Seth Littrell, or Neal Brown would be options.

Point being, he has a record to say whether he’s good or not.

We’re on blind faith with the AD.

And blindly accepting it.

Here’s hoping we see the light. :p

Interesting. I don't get that at all with this administration. I realize basketball is much larger than football with this school but the new administration went out and got arguably the biggest and best name on the market for the program.

I’ve said all along. Two different issues, fire CBP and hire Jeff Brohm. Don’t know if the 2nd one is realistic at this point but first issue has to occur IMHO.

I’d love to see AD Tyra’s emails for the last two or three weeks. Can you imagine the “suggestions” he is receiving from the fan base?

If you do. Who would you want as his replacement?
Fire Petrino. He hasn't earned a reprieve. The trend on this second go around is all downhill. Unfortunately, I don't believe Brohm will be available this early. I will have to defer to others on recommended replacements.

Yes, of course, we want Petrino gone.

If we have to go with a coordinator then Manny Diaz is at the top of my list, followed by Brian Jean-Mary, DC at South Florida and their recruiting coordinator. He also coached at UofL previously under Charlie Strong. The announcement might not go over with a lot of fanfare, especially with the Brohm or Bust crowd, but once he starts bringing in top recruits the fans will begin to come around.

Mel tucker or brent venables. We need a DC or OC from a major southern football program.

If you do. Who would you want as his replacement?
If you can’t get rid of the “Doughboy” Stoops do you still play football? Just curious. Loved that game Saturday by the way. Your kittens were finally exposed for what they are yesterday - not a top 15 team as advertised.
