Yeah, sounds like we're about the same age. I probably had Incubus on there as well and Staind. Just stuff that would not see any rotation from me today.

Top 3 albums that defined the crew I ran with my Senior year of HS in '75 and that bring back those memories are, Led Zep's, Physical Graffiti, Robin Trower's, Bridge of Sighs and Steely Dan's, Pretzel Logic.
Went to high school same years as @JasonSpear. A bunch of punk, ska, emo, and hardcore metal music. I still listen to mostly all of that stuff 13 years later.
The variety of my musical interests has greatly expanded since then. These days I tend to prefer post rock, hardcore metal, and classic alternative. For example, The Smiths might be my favorite band ever now, I didn't want anything to do with them in high school. Ska has mostly been weeded out of my preferences but I still like most of the ska music I bought/downloaded in high school.

Boston, Cougar, Eagles, Skynard, Seger Bellamy Brothers, Alabama, etc.... played drums in a Country/Rock bar band, so a whole bunch of that kind of stuff

I listened to Big D and the Kids Table, Catch 22, Dance Hall Crashers, The Hippos, The Impossibles, Less Than Jake, Link 80, Mustard Plug, No Doubt, Rancid, Reel Big Fish, RX Bandits, Save Ferris, Slapstick, Slow Gherkin, and Stray Cats to name a few
Nobody dominated the dance/party scene of the mid 80's like Prince and The Time. 1999, Purple Rain, The Bird, and Jungle Love were required at every party. Infiltrated a Lindsey Wilson dance around '85 and pounded the floor with a girl named Norma. High point of an era for me.
Billy Ocean songs were the ones that made girls start dancing. Cameo's Word Up was mandatory dancing for every girl in the place.

Oh, man. The nostalgia of that effing song. I think the movie Orange County made fun of how played out that song was but I remember every girl in high school blasting that song in their cars while their rear-view accessories blew in the wind as did their fake blonde highlights.
No one on this planet could name another song that Crazytown ever did.

Sublime does not and will never suck. If you think so, then you suck. The rest of those bands were fine in the late 90's and early 00's for any party or what not. Like most music though they just don't have sticking power, the sound gets old. Modern day I would say that these bands like Band of Horses or Kings of Leon or whatever, they get kind of old, but a band like the Black Keys will stick around like a comfortable shoe.
