and hear what outsiders; fb announcers, color commentators, & fb junkies have to say regarding UK's Off. woes, the common theme is there are too many instances where PT overthrows his WR's, underthrows his WR's, throws the ball high, holds onto the ball too long, fails to go through his progressions, or locks onto one receiver.
These are hurdles that have been to great for Patrick to overcome!!!!

No doubt but that ain't the only thing they say bad about this team. Even against Charlotte we couldn't pass protect Drew. They are getting better with the run but we have to be able to give him time to throw the ball. Some of you can say it until the cows come home but PT wasn't all the problem with this team. Plus there was even another drop tonight.

But if you take away the "reterick" then you might have a properly spelled title. That would just confuse us. ;)
Well, that, and Towles didn't play tonight.

The qb issue is not the biggest issue facing this team. DB over threw an open receiver in the endzone; threw behind his receivers at least twice...just as PT had been doing the previous games. That stuff just happens....to any qb. Watch the NFL today....I'll bet you see multiple instances of that in just one game and by pro qb's.

When I watch the offense, it seems something is missing. We do not have the variety of routes a Mumme or Leach would have. When it's said we're going to have an "air raid" offense, if it ain't Mumme or Leach oriented, something is wrong. Maybe the routes are in the system, but our qb's either can't find the receivers, our the receivers can't catch the ball, throws are inaccurate or the line doesn't block well enough.

The line issue was apparent tonight.

Ram and Poetax nailed it - while it's hard to complain about 415 yds rushing, even against an overmatched opponent, that same overmatched opponent was still able to get pressure on Barker on numerous occasions last night.

What to do about OL player development, coaching, etc. is one of the key issues Stoops will have to address in the off-season.

We're two dropped end zone passes from being at seven wins right now. Heaven only knows how many interceptions we've had.

I know many had rather blame the coaches rather mention the roster but that, in my mind, is the issue. Good athletes but in a league where good isn't good enough.

I thought Reterick played very well, we're lucky to have him on the field, the team would collapse if we took him away.

'Red Rifle' Reterick? Isn't he playing for the Bungles?

(seriously, if you are this guys friend, you really have an obligation to call him or something...this will end up on the webpage of every UK hater in America...)

All jokes aside, I watched the replay of the game after freezing my bones off last night. I like the guy calling the game with Dave Baker, the guy on the halftime show, McFarland, he mentioned how confident Barker looked, and said " Yea, he should have been starting a long time ago." And then Stoerner spoke of how Towles' abilities do not fit our system. I thought that was a very good observation and a very good third party analysis of our quarterback play. My hope now is the we can somehow get the win this week, not for the bowl game but for the extra time Barker can have to mesh with this offense

Clint Storner... Ex-Ark QB. I used to live in NWA and he was a radio host in the afternoon for Ark. Sports. Seemed like a real honest dude with good insights...

While you're correcting people, might want to move that period inside that quotation mark. [winking]

Actually, the period has gone outside the quotation marks for thousands of years all over the English speaking world. Only recently and only in the United States has it been relocated to the inside. It might just be that ole Bob is more worldly than we are.

"Reterick" has been the downfall of many great leaders.
I think he had more eligibility than anyone who has ever played at Utah.

Well played, OP.

When you're typing on a message board, spelling and punctuation are the delivery vehicles. F*ck those up and we have no clue what you mean.
