Banning booze? WTF. Glad I had my wife snag a couple extra 1.75s of Elijah Craig today just in case other politicians do the same stupid things.
It's one thing to ban public gatherings and the like, but booze and gun sales? Is she afraid the flock of people into these stores during the "shutdown" would equate to "gatherings"? If so, and based on my wife's experience today at Costco and the local grocery, these moron mayors need to ban buying groceries, too.

Nothing has been banned. It includes language for utilities and fuel if needed so they hate your pickup trucks too.
I thought it would be a good way to improve social distancing to have people capping each other over quilted vs non-quilted.

They declared an emergency. Existing powers ALLOW for those things in an emergency, among a myriad other possible powers that might be needed in emergencies. There's no indication the mayor is intending to use those powers to ban sales of alcohol or guns. This is an example of fearmongering, sensationalist media fake news.
The fact the anyone has that power should put all of us in fear. Fear that we let the government get too ******* big
