Genghis Khan killed like 40 million innocent people and raped about 5,000 women, and they have a restaurant chain named after him.

This isn’t saying Nazis should catch a break - far from it, but in 600 years are they going to be naming restaurants after Hitler?

I've tried. I absolutely do not get this movie. Not even a little bit. Have seen maybe 10 minutes total.

Same with Breaking Bad, though. I keep trying, I just can't get past the first 10 minutes.

Probably says more about you as a person that you can't get into and understand the Blues Brothers...

No doubt. I've had this conversation 100 times and that seems to be the constant result.

Trouble is, IDK if that's a good or bad thing...

I think it's an age thing. I really do. I'm right inside that window where BB was before my time and I've never found enjoymrnt in slapstick-type humor. It's the same with Animal House, which I interpret as extremely overrated, simply b/c of timing. What made that movie cool was passe to me by the time it meant anything.

Maybe it's just Belushi? Which is odd b/c I really like his brother.

My wife just summed it up perfectly...

It's the original version of "Dude, Where's my Car?" You either dig that kinda **** or not.

While I didn't think this was a good movie, I would still would drop "Dude and Sweet" when given the right opportunity...move lines from all eras are important.

I'm now getting the painful reminder of the night I picked out/we watched "Dude Where's My Car" and "Saving Silverman" in the same night. Some mistakes are forever.

On the other hand, I no longer have to guess at when my faith in Hollywood died. I can pretty much pinpoint it.

Man, you've got a undeveloped 3 stooges complex. You need help! Maybe they can graft one on? Or work your way up to it. First Mel Brooks movies, then the Marx brothers, and final stage 3 Stooges shorts.
