It's amazing the disdain these people have for Louisville football. They all know Lamar Jackson is the best player in college football this season but they say they hate the Heisman this season because he's going to win by default. They know full well it wasn't Jackson that cost the Houston game and the game he played against UK kept us in the game as the defense struggled. They talk about four turn overs again knowing that last INT was a hail mary at the end of the game.

Lamar's numbers are more than enough to win the award. The Cards struggles are not on him and they know it. They just don't want a player from Louisville winning the award, especially with the team losing these last two games. Without Lamar Jackson, the Cards would have never seen the top 5 or 9 wins. If he played for FSU or USC they would have no problem with him winning the Heisman.

I will watch the Cards bowl game and the Heisman presentation but I'm done with ESPN experts talking sports.

This. Lamar has done more than enough to warrant the Heisman. It may be a tougher sell now, but LJ should still be the frontrunner regardless of what talking heads spew.

I think I have watched every ESPN college football show today and I have no idea what the OP is complaining about. All three shows the pundits were unanimous Jackson would win.

one of the int was the receiver "bad".
Jackson is probably the best, but 3 loses
and only 1 "big" win might weigh heavy with voters.

I basically tune out everyone but Herbstreit and Pollack. I used to like Spencer Tillman but haven't heard him in ages. To each his own.

Yes, they said he would win but they didn't like it. They were saying things like win it by default and I hate the Heisman race this year. Not exactly what they normally say about the winner.

Funny how this gig has morphed over the years. In the beginning it existed to help gamblers get a suppose edge. Keep you up to date on injuries. The idea was any insider information was good. That's why you listened to them.

Now it's some kind of weird Disney drama where they tell you who's the best teams.

The difference is how RG3 played down the stretch. His big "Heisman moments" came later in the season.

RG3's Baylor went 9-3 (.750), finished 10-3 (.769) after the bowl.
Tebow's Florida went 9-3 (.750), finished 9-4 (.692)
Williams's Texas went 8-3 (.727), finished 9-3 (.750)
Detmer's BYU went 10-2 (.833), finished 10-3 (.769)
Brown's Notre Dame went 8-3 (.727), finished 8-4 (.666)

That's just in the last 30 years. We could go back and find a lot more with winning percentages similar to Louisville's this year or lower. Maybe these guys shouldn't have won the Heisman either. It is certainly about the teams' records and not the individual performances after all....

I think it's obvious what's at play here. Louisville is not a traditional football power. They have only been in the ACC now for three years. Unfortunately, this holds a lot of sway with these pundits, many former players from traditional powers.

After the FSU win, several of these people were asking why Jackson went to Louisville. They were already lamenting his possible Heisman. Now that Louisville has lost two games they are so ready for a more traditional power school to have the winner. The problem they say though there is no one who obviously fits the bill. So they're bummed saying Lamar will win by default, which makes no sense.

Here's my prediction. If DeShawn Watson has a great game in the ACC championship game, he will win.
