Fact is, we need to dominate the state in football. It is time to start beating UL consistently.

I believe by the end of the season, this offense will be able to score on anyone and we have a chance to win against UL.

Yes, their QB is incredible, but injuries could happen before that and I also trust Stoops to have a good defensive gameplan to try and limit his damage.

I didn't expect this to start until the offseason but okay.

You should write off the UL game. But only if you buy tickets to the game. That has to be considered some kind of charitable donation to watch that beatdown live.

Beating U of L in football is just about as satisfying as beating them in basketball. That's just me though. The only reason basketball gets the edge is because usually both schools are better at that sport. Probably won't be the case for the Cards this season.

The off week has made some fans delusional. UofL is way better than any team we have played up to this point besides Bama. I don't see how beating Vandy and USCjr at home by a touchdown makes people think we will beat UofL on the road. This one needs chalked up there with appreciation thread for having offenses and defenses ranked in the bottom third of the nation.

UL will be able to pick their score. You bet your @$$ Bobby will run trick plays whlie they are up 50 in the fourth.

UL is all about pace, rhythm, and momentum.

If UK can get stops early and eat up clock on offense with long drives that end in at least 3, there is a chance.

I mean we literally have to stop them or at least hold them to a field goal on their first couple of possessions.

UL will serve as the final hearing on CMS and Elliot's defense. If it's ugly, major change will be a must.

I always hate saying we have 0% chance to win a game but we have 0% chance of winning if a healthy Jackson is playing ( would love to be proven wrong). If Jackson is injured between now and then (and I hope he isn't) then the game would be a tossup IMO. Jackson is just that good.

I don't understand why when a subject like this comes up, UK fans compete with each other to make the most negative opinion.

As of right now, UL will be favored, and they should be...by a healthy margin. That doesn't mean they are going to run us out of the stadium in the 1st quarter.

Petrino will try to utterly destroy what little of a program we have. He's absolutely going to run the score up as much as he can. Up 5 touchdowns with a minute left and 4th down and goal..they'll go for it.

two years ago they did not have Lamar Jackson playing QB. Last year they did not have have Lamar Jackson playing QB until after UK was up 21-0 and after Jackson came in they outscored UK 38-3.

Even if we somehow slow down Jackson or he is hurt...

I have doubts about scoring on their superb DEFENSE. Their D is stopping teams and setting up their O for incredible field position and so many good scoring opportunities.

As well as we have played, our offense struggled to move the ball on Vandy and SC. A highly motivated UofL team under a Bobby Petrino who hates UK..it would be hard.

And what I described above is withouth Jackson. Add in Jackson...hand them the Cup.

Kind of depends, really ...

Does UK have non-participant players attempt to pick a fight with UofL's players, or does UK attempt to warm up by jumping up and down on the Cardinal Logo at midfield? Then Petrino will probably do everything he can to break Georgia Tech's record margin of victory in a college football game.

If none of that happens, but instead if UofL is 10-1 and by some miracle we are playing in the ACC championship game the following weekend, then it would definitely be counterproductive to attempt to beat UK by as many points as possible. You play to win the game, and once you have victory in hand, you empty the bench and keep your starters from being injured, so that they are ready for the ACC championship game.

If instead UofL is 10-1 but is shut out of the ACC championship game, and if UofL needs an impressive win to give it a chance to make the College Football Playoffs, then you attempt to run up the score like Michigan did on Rutgers this past weekend.

And if UofL is 9-2 or worse coming into the game, then I think you are back to just winning the game and retaining the Governor's Cup. Bragging rights apply whether the margin is 1 or 100.

Not sure why you're on this board if that's your attitude. It's a silly attitude, as a vast majority of the country cares far less about college basketball than college football, but you do you.

No way in hell this UK team is beating this UL team, regardless of where game is played. We can't score, they can score in bunches.

The only way the game is competitive is if Lamar Jackson isn't playing (quite possible given the number of QB runs that he makes during each game), but even then, I do not trust this UK team.

Good lord! Our fans are truly out there. There is absolutely zero hope at beating Louisville this year. Petrino is wanting to obliterate the uk football program all together.

It's all about matchups, and this one is bad.
UK's defense will not be able to stop UofL's offense (even if Jackson isn't playing).
UofL's defense will stop UK's offense.
This is a no win for UK on both sides of the ball. Unless there is some really great special teams play and a lopsided turnover margin, this game will not be close.
