This change, plus a great new head coach, could go a long way in the eyes of recruits and portal players all over the country. The current traditional unis could be included in the once-a-year throw- back game. I say it's time to evolve into the modern era of college football in every way that doesn't actually compromise "success with honor." With NIL, transfer portal and coaching carousel now permanently changing college football, it might just be time for Nittany Nation to change with it.

Umm, no. Our uniforms are iconic and they're great. You can do a change up once or twice a year to make money.

I read somewhere the average stay as a Football HC at a university is 5-7 years. The days of Joe and that SOS SOB at Iowa are gone forever.

Really??? this exactly not the type of recruit you want they will just leave you for better uniforms or NIL deal elsewhere while you have some stupid *** uniform look . Might as well just put 67' on the each cheek of the pants while you are at it right?? if you want to follow trends.

You don't destroy your iconic visual brand by rebranding because you think, if college football changes, so should Penn State.. Uniform and roster construction are most definitely mutually exclusive and you want to join them into the same dynamic?

Stop trying to imitate someone else much less follow a trend, we do this crap already with our stadium experience and that **** got stale real quick.

If you don't like it root for another team if its that important to you personally...which is the point , doesn't it seem like as silly thing to do is root for another team because you personally like their helmets....... which reminds me.....

So every college football fan immediately recognizes a Penn State game - whether it's live, highlights, or even on an ad for a television and you want to do away with that and be like everyone else?

I hear what you are saying. And the example pics I posted above are too much of a brand change so I can see where you are coming from. I don't like the extreme makeover look either. However, I think putting the logo on the helmet, names on the jerseys and keeping everything else the same could be a positive change even if only for a year or two. If going back to the traditional uniform makes sense at that time, then do it.
What would be even better, is to keep it a secret until the team runs out for the first game next year.

I'm all for it. But let's go all the way.

Hire the most expensive coach and players. Strippers at the games. Put the word on the street we are the most lucrative, corrupt program in the country. The talent will flock, we will win 3 nattys and everyone can back to enjoyable beer drinking in the lots.

It would be cool for once a year to wear the helmet with the logo. Keep uniforms as they are and still no names on the jerseys.

Our coach gets fired and some people start losing their minds. If you want to change things up, you may as well go all out...
  • Pink and black uniforms become the standard even though they'd be hideous
  • Switch sidelines
  • Switch locker rooms
  • During pregame, Blue Band members must now turn right instead of left
  • Install artificial turf, the garbage stuff from the 70s
  • Move the student section to the north upper deck
  • No alcohol in the parking lots
  • Require the mic man to start a cheer during every commercial break
  • Blare "Make some noise!!" between every play. Oh wait, they already do that

NO!

Although I'd be okay if that uniform is the one time our team wears once a year. I hate the "generations of greatness" uniforms....it makes no sense.
