Imagine, if you will, Reed Sheppard in the offense we run

Who really knows? I remember an awful lot of reluctance, at times, for Reed to let it fly. It probably would've been a little different under Pope and this roster. Just saying, he basically had a green light last year and he wasn't firing. Him, Butler, and Oweh on the floor together would absolutely disrupt opposing guards defensively.

He had to leave, I understand that. You can't turn down that kind of money and take a chance on getting hurt.
But that O was made for players like him.
Imagine if you can, Reed and Rod were starters last year. Last year only proved that Cal makes promises to some unproven 5 stars and screws over those who have not been promised anything.

I agree with those saying Z is the one who misses this system most. But, I do think he would've had to get a lot faster to really shine. The only reason I can maybe understand Z's decision, is that he and his people probably have an off the charts sense of loyalty to Cal for getting him into NCAA ball.

To be fair, and I wanted Reed to come back, but if he did, then someone (maybe more) currently on this team aren't here. They would likely be Butler, Oweh, or Brea. I love Reed and his game but we may be in better shape since he went pro. Individually, Reed is better than all of them but collectively they may give us the best version of ourself this season.

Maybe we don't get Brea, maybe we don't get Krissa. Butler and reed could be on the floor togther as 1&2 just like Reed and Dilly were on the floor together. Love Brea and Krissa on this team, but yeah, if Reed was here, I don't think we would have missed either of them or wondered if we were missing a piece.

Reed was good enough that he would have performed in whatever scheme. I think Z is the one that really screwed himself. This type of offense would have highlighted everything he’s good at.
Couldn't have had a better coach than Pope as a fellow big man that has been in the pros to develop under.

I wish Pope would have been brought in last season.

Sheppard would have been here, didn’t matter who the coach was.

Reeves came back despite Cal.

Pope probably brings Robinson with him.

Would have loved to see those three together at 1-3 spots, in this system.
💯 and I would have loved to see who he grabbed in the portal.

Luckily for us we won’t have to imagine players returning anymore.

Obviously we got a lot of portal upperclassmen this year, but going forward we’re not going to have wonder what potential combinations of players would have been like had so and so come back!

Imagine this…Chandler, Noah, Perry…year two and 3…

Hell imagine them and everyone else mid-late season and post season when they aren’t packing their bags and thinking about the draft or leaving because Cal didn’t showcase them instead the other guys trying to make the league.

Imagine if Bowie never got hurt, imagine if Bogans didnt sprain his ankle, imagine if Adam and Eve obeyed God…Imagine all the people..
Any list like that needs to start Imagine if Mike Casey hadn’t broken his leg before the 1970 season….

We had a top 10 offense just last year.

I'd say it worked out pretty well for Reed in the offense he was playing in considering where he got drafted and the season he had.

Would have been fun to watch Reed play under Pope. But at least one current player and likely a couple wouldn't be on this current team and I LIKE MY TEAM

Reed and our Offense were fine last year. As another poster said a top 10 offense.

Winning games was the problem because of idiotic lineups, projected top 3 picks that can't dunk/make layups. Among other coaching decisions. It would have been very hard for Reed to "Shine" any more than he did last year, that's why he was a top 3 pick.
