Impact of rule change for fake injuries

It's a small sample size, but this Syracuse/Tennessee game would suggest little impact of the rule change. Syracuse players are just faking injury before the ball is spotted. At one point close to halftime, Syracuse had a blatant fake injury after the ball was spotted, but they had 2 timeouts to spend and time was running out in the half, so there was really no penalty for them to lose a timeout.

Something that will stop it. If a game is halted because your “hurt”, then that player has to get a clearance from the ER before re-entering the game.

They could have something like an independent medical staffer and any player who stops play due to injury has to leave the game and be examined and cleared before re-entering the game.

Won't happen. Really no way to stop it.
