Seems kind of strange without knowing what the coaches know. Wallace and Jackson as starters with Thrower and Fulton back along with two 4 star LB's coming in. Granted, we need eight, did I leave anyone out?
He’s a stop gap for a year or 2 where we need depth. If one of Godfrey (who I believe is starting outside) or Brown pop off he won’t slow down their development. Fulton is SR who has only played ST. This kid will also help on ST.
Not saying he’s great or that we should expect big things but he’s decent at a position of need if he comes in.
We haven’t been linked with any edge rushers so I assume the staff feels Weaver is coming back and they are happy with Wade, Fearby, and Matthew’s development. At this point you either play these kids somewhat early or you lose them to the portal.

Still two weeks left for portal activity and players are going in every day. Guess it is a question should you use your best athletes on special teams or use a scholly for a career special teams player? Just hope we don't lose a top player in the portal that might want to come here because of doing it this way.
I think I read somewhere that Godfrey may be projected to OLB, so maybe this kid could add depth at ILB.
With both starting ILBs projected to return, it may be tough to convince an upper class men who is starter level impact player to transfer in.
I would guess some of Mike Stoops contacts from the time he spent in Arizona have some good things to say about this kid. He may be able to help.
I heard he is always in the right spot ... fundamentally sound, very disciplined and very attentive in the film room. A friend of mine heard this from an EQMT manager.
