Inbounds plays... what is happening?

Have we given up running a play to get a basket on an inbound? It drove me crazy when Cal wouldn't try to score on the inbounds, and we would give up a basket to our opponent all the time on the same play. Now we're throwing the inbounds pass across mid-court? This team and coaching staff seem completely broken at this point. We've regressed in every area this season vs last.

It’s a horrific realization when you see that ‘offensive genius’ mark pope’s sets amount to basically exactly what calipari was doing, but with 20% of the talent. It’s really unbelievable I never in a million years would think pope would run such a horrible and pointless offense

no one ever knows who is going to shoot on any possession. Time after time the PG just dribbles around for 15 seconds until they jack up a contested shot or make a bad pass at someone’s feet. Or we post up Mo for some god forsaken reason.

It is embarrassing that apparently Pope doesn't believe in this team enough to think they can run an inbound play. The sad part is that either the players aren't capable or Pope and his staff can't relay it to the players.

Pearl was always very good in this part of the game.

We ran some great ones last season.

Maybe Pope found a book in his desk called “Out of Bounds plays” by John Calipari.

It’s one page. For offense, throw it in to a big in the corner and the inbounder will get the ball from the big assuming the ball is not stolen.

For defense, everyone watch the ball until the other team scores.

It’s a terrible book.

That's the head scratcher for me, last season we scored multiple times on inbounds plays, either lob dunks or open 3's.

Pope said they’ve been “dumbing” down the offense. I think maybe these guys just aren’t capable of running the offense that he wants. Idk, I’m about checked out, though.

Self-indicting comment. Assessing a player’s basketball acumen and IQ should be one of the foremost aspects of the evaluation and interview process. By pointing the finger there, Pope actually told on himself.

Again I agree with every post on this thread.
Cal was bad at inbounds plays especially underneath basket. But never this bad.
The offense this year is so frustrating to watch that my TV is in danger of being assaulted.
The rotation now is worse than before because now JJ,Noah ,Jelly ,CC & Hawthorne just sit collecting money & figuring out where to transfer next year.
Time to go to full court 40 min ofHELL - Playing everybody at least 15 minutes with the focus on Defense & fast breaks . Can’t be any worse than it is now .
Watching many games yesterday on a split 4 screens made me realize how bad things are in BBN & Ky men’s Hoops. — Arkansas,Vandy ,Missouri,Bama Tenn,Auburn ,A&M ,Florida,Georgia & Many ACC teams are just so much more fun to watch than the exhibitions the Cats are putting on this year.
