All I know is they should make prospective Indian call center employees call about 10 random Americans using cell phones and if they can't understand them, then they are not hired. I don't know how many times I have to ask some of the people on the other end to repeat what they said.

I went to Hyderabad for work a few years ago - saw two Indians taking the most atrocious wet crap right on the side of the road. Wanted to get back in the cab and say "take me back to the airport...now".

Totally true story. For every 1 domestic developer we offshored to India, it took 4+ to get the same amount of work done, and the work was inferior in quality.

I've been to India a few dozen times so I think my system has become immune to it. And believe it or not, Hyderabad is nicer than most places.
