Say what you want, but Indiana is pretty good team. Crean has gotten the most out of his misfits.

If I were voting today Clappy would probably get my vote for COY. Just up until now. He has really done one hell of a job. It also doesn't hurt having Blackmon. The kid can ball!

See, this is why Cal doesn't want to play them. They're in the middle of a movement.

They can coast until the Wisconsin game. Hard to beat a team like theirs that is fast, athletic and then have them hit 14 threes.

Can be a dangerous team if they are hitting. But they don't have much inside to fall back on when they are not.

I hate Crean nearly as much as Pitino but this is his best coaching job to date, IMO. They were not supposed to be this good.

They are good at home but lost by 20 a couple of games back at Michigan State, and this is a just an okay MSU. I'd love for IU to be in our bracket.

The guys still weird as all get out but gotta say I love the spread offense and the dribble drive motion they use. Makes it real hard to guard even marginal players when everybody's moving in space

Tied at the top of the Big 10, expect a crappy painting later this week.

IU deserves to be ranked but they aren't very good IMO . Helluva a job by Creepy Crean though as i thought they would win 10 games.

They're difficult to beat in that canyon of a thing they call an arena. The seats are so steep they're nearly verticle, and the fans seem like they're right on top of the court. And all the noise funnels downward like it's amplified 10×. I've hated that place ever since they beat the '75 team there. But that same Cat team came back and knocked them out of the NCAA tournament later in the year!! Just like Anthony Davis and the 2012 team did after they loss there on the Hoosier last second shot.

IU reminds me of UT in the SEC. Taking advantage of a conference with no real great or even consistently good teams after the top dog.

That's an understatement. Tremendous backcourt. And a tremendous outside shooting team. But I think they'll soon fall apart because of two GLARING weaknesses:

1) NO competent big men inside. Hell, their current starting center is Colin Hartman, who's a 6'6" white kid originally recruited as a shooting guard--could you imagine Hartman trying to guard our 7 footers inside?

2) Really soft defense. Indiana just outshoots opponents, it can't actually stop anyone defensively.

I'll admit they have been a very fun team to watch with that backcourt and that 5 out spread offense. But good guards and outside shooting can only cover up those glaring errors for so long, their flaws are too big not to catch up to them soon.

IU is Duke super light. If they are hitting 3's they look good. If they aren't, Bardstown Rd will beat them.

We all know....Live by the three, die by the three. We'll all know how good IU is when they GO to Wisconsin. But right now...They're making some noise for sure.

They make a damn good backcourt.
As I said early on, they will live and die by the 3. The 3 is a great equalizer and gives less talented teams an opportunity to overcome the weaknesses.

Crean actually has done a good job getting a weird roster to play pretty good. But that's all they are: pretty good. With Crean, any given nine years you'd be looking at 5 pretty good years, 3 bad years, and actually be in the conversation 1 year at best. Color me unimpressed, and I'll be happy to have him still on the bench in Bloomington, really spreading around that mediocrity.

I was at the game, my wife is an IU grad.
Maryland was really slow and didn't play a lick of defense.
The guards played 2 or three feet off of IU 's guards.
Too much time to shoot .
I believe we wouldn't have trouble with either team.

The IU beat writer from the Indy paper was on KSR this week and described them as an average team in a down B1G. They may make the field as an 10 to 12 seed. If I were a #5, I would hate to play them.

The Big 10 is terrible. It's making IU look much better than they are. Also, outside of Maryland, they've been playing the worst of the Big 10 so far. They'll lose numerous games the rest of the season.

A lot of people underestimate Indianas team and TC as a coach, I would rather give them credit and then brag all the more when we beat them!

With 15 of those 20 attempts being wide open. Maryland apparently had no idea how to guard the perimeter.

I've seen some bits and pieces of IU games this year, maybe I've just caught his good moments but Troy Williams has always seemed to make plays when I've watched. Lots of glue guy stuff, impacting the game without scoring and creating opportunities for others.

Seems like we were high on his list, and he was high on Cal's(?). Also seem to remember he was about to commit to UNC and then backed away a day before the supposed announcement. Everyone thought that was because UK was going hard after him and then he kind of cooled and surprisingly ended up at IU.

Anyways, glad Crean is having enough success to keep his job. LOL!

Aside from Iowa State (who lost to a not-so-good South Carolina team), who has Maryland beaten? Oklahoma State? Michigan State? My best opinion is Maryland is about to get exposed by even a very weak Big 10.
