- it's only available on Peacock (NBC's Subscription-only Streaming Platform)??? Given the profile of that game in both the Conference & National scene, that's insane imho.

I believe that each Big 10 team must play at least one game a season on that network. The OSU-Ohio game last week was on that network. Last season, our game against Washington was on Peacock.Given the profile of that game in both the Conference & National scene, that's insane imho.

Just another "first step" for moving more high interest viewing behind a new paywall! Not really a network - NBC (owner of Peacock) is the Network; Peacock is a pay-for subscription streaming service.
Point of correction: peacock has eight exclusive games per year, so there is no rule that each team must have one game on it per year. BTN still has their rule about appearing on it once per year. I’d have to look it up, but IIRC, each team has to play one conference game and one OOC game on BTN.I believe that each Big 10 team must play at least one game a season on that network. I was going to "Like" that comment and then I realized it might seem like that meant I like the fact that they're moving more and more behind paywalls, which I don't. I do agree with your comment though. They are going to bleed as much money out of people as they can.Just another "first step" for moving more high interest viewing behind a new paywall!
Everything eventually moves to the $$$. Look at how the Big 10 has evolved.Given the profile of that game in both the Conference & National scene, that's insane imho.
Thanks for clarifying that. I don't get Peacock, and I've noticed that the last two Sunday 11:30 a.m. Premier League games, which usually are the best matches, were on Peacock.Point of correction: peacock has eight exclusive games per year, so there is no rule that each team must have one game on it per year. Essentially correct. Indeed there is no appearance requirement for Peacock though NBC does try to have most of the teams appear there each season to help drive subscriptions among different fans. Peacock also carries a number of basketball games exclusively each year.Point of correction: peacock has eight exclusive games per year, so there is no rule that each team must have one game on it per year. I get people dislike the Peacock only games if they don't subscribe, but this is like year 2 or 3 of it. It's not unusual anymore. Just wait until Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube start bidding next round of negotiations....
I might spend more time watching ESPN+ in a year than everything else combined. Big Ten games don't really fit into their business model up until this point (usually really cheap productions, more niche games, etc), but I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN expanded the offerings to get more people to sign up.Also, ESPN+ - Disney is now working hard to get that streaming service into a fully marketable state with a robust number of games exclusive to it. They also are not happy with losing the Big Ten as a property, especially as it has expanded to include more name programs.
Just curious, what is the “profile” of this game? Watching Iowa is like watching a game from the 1980’s.- it's only available on Peacock (NBC's Subscription-only Streaming Platform)??? Given the profile of that game in both the Conference & National scene, that's insane imho.

You might be surprised that the B10 wants a higher profile game or 2 on Peacock. It's still one of the better, more important, b1g games this weekend especially with Indiana's win last weekend over ILL. Very surprised it isn't at least on BTN. The BTN games are Buttgers vs Minnehaha and NW vs UCLA in the battle for worst team in the league honors????
So they couldn't get one and they're showing an Iowa game insteadYou might be surprised that the B10 wants a higher profile game or 2 on Peacock.
Correct--it helps with future contract negotiationsYou might be surprised that the B10 wants a higher profile game or 2 on Peacock.
Those that pay the big(ger) bucks get selection priority. To the BTN are relegated the dregs, as it should be.It's still one of the better, more important, b1g games this weekend especially with Indiana's win last weekend over ILL.
